Demerol IV (meperidine)

Demerol IV (meperidine) .... what are some opinions on this drug? I was able to quit taking other substances but Demerol IV I can't seem to shake. Anybody ever OD from Demerol IV? What was the experience like? How much was taken? The initial rush is unlike any other. It doesn't last long and the longer effect of the drug is a downside of it. Any and all information about use of this drug would be appreciated.
 
I'm sure there has been people that have overdosed via IV Meperidine. It's a lovely drug (IV'd or not) but, I'll take Hydromorphone over it any day for the IV rush. If memory serves me correctly, my doses were around 30-60mg's IV'd. It was great while it lasted, can't remember.
