Meperidine is a cop out to real phenathrene opiates like morphine , hydromorphone, oxycodone, oxymorphone, etc... they use it because its synthetic, and can be made in HUGE amounts for a lot cheaper than morphine or anything else, and since its a bit less fun than the real opiates, it works out perfect for hospitals and doctors, they can save money AND not let you have as much fun. it also is dangerous where others are not, perpetuating the govs whole shit about opaites being dangerous, it causes seizures when used a lot.
The conversion rate to other opiates is as follows, the standard to compare things to is 10mg morphine IV, and thats equal to 300mg demerol oral, or 75mg IV or IM , this is quite strong in a non tollerant person and basically this amount will probably make you feel very good, its a bit past the doses doctors will give you now because they dont want you to figure out that taking a lot could be fun, they will let you sit in pain just so you dont figure it out. The preceeding amount of 10mg morphine is also equal to the following in there amounts to give you an idea of what you should take if you have taken any of these, they are all equal, so you can divide by the same factor if you have had less or more of one. 15mg hydrocodone IV = 30mg hydrocod oral M

1.5mg hydromorph IV = 7.5mg hydromorph oral VS
1mg oxymorph IV = 10mg oral VS
10mg methadone IV = 20mg methadone oral S
120mg codeine IM = 250mg codeine oral W(varies-metabolism)
130mg hcl, 200 napsylate of darvocet Oral W
2mg levorphanol IV = 4mg levorph Oral VS
no mixed agonist antagonist will ever be as strong, these include stadol, talwin, nalbuphine, etc
