Delta 8 THC Megathread

High doses of both d8 and d9 can bring on a sort of "drunkenness" in me. More like a combination of feeling dizzy + stoned, not like alcohol, but in a way I would describe it as a drunkenness type feeling
Yeah that sounds kind of normal to me but just making you slur your words but be perfectly fine otherwise doesn’t sound like either delta8 or delta9 to me.

I have read about delta-8-THC and people who have taken it said how it is basically like delta 9 THC but more psychedelic like vaping or like smoking/eating Sativa herb, and that they were surprised it is legal.

This trip report, which I did not write makes delta 8 seem very fun to me, but I used to love smoking Sativa marijuana and Sativa Moroccan hashish, and smoking so much you trip from it.

I am not sure why the author believes that drinking lavender and chamomile infusions made him trip or see visuals, or were synergistic or potentiated the THC? I wish they did that.

On reddit there is a delta 8 forum people wrote about how it gave them bad experiences.

I was a daily user for 10+ years. I quit about 1.5 years ago. Well the other day I picked up 2 gummies at local shop. I can't recall their strength but it is probably around 50-80mg. It's a cherry slice gummie. So i take a bite of around 1/5 of the entire cherry slice.
I feel very slight effects, increased motivation to do work around the house. not much else. So, around 2 hours later, i take a slightly larger bite out of the slice (1/4 of the entire cherry slice). Fast forward to an hour later and I all of a sudden notice that I am high and my heart rate starts to rapidly increase. I start to panic that I took too much. Within about 2 minutes, I calm myself down and my heart rate returns to normal-ish levels.

I was definitely high, and definitely noticed it.

I am prone to anxiety and panic if I take to much THC.

ok so i gather from dispo tht delt a8 real weak man wont help me~! delta-9 is just thc i cant even tell a diff inbetween indica and sativas anymore

Disagree 100 percent

Cannabis has atypical pharmacology via CB1, other drugs do NOT use CB1 (with the exception of recent synth cannabinoids), experience with other drugs will NOT necessarily prepare you for agonism of CB1 except MAYBE in a very general sense of what it’s like to be intoxicated

I’ll draw an analogy

A fictional person was born in India and native language is Tamil , however he knows English as many international speakers do . Furthermore , He is linguistically gifted knows several Romance languages (Portuguese and Spanish) , as well as scandanavian languages (Norwegian and Swedish ) and the African languages Swahili and Yoruba

Alright. This might put the fictional Tamil speaker at a serious advantage over “normal person” if he tried to learn something completely unrelated to the languages he knows - like if he tried to learn Arabic for example , the languages he knows dont DIRECTLY give him relevant help with learning Arabic (just indirectly )
I mean we can see with polyglots that they do pick up new languages easier compared to monolingual people, even if the language is unrelated

I wasn’t saying that it would prepare them for a cannabis high. Just that other drug use might prepare them to handle unexpected situations when intoxicated. Certain techniques work pretty generally across all drugs when one is having a “bad trip” I.e. drinking water, showering, affirmations that it’s all ok, calm music etc.

Yeah , I had consistent difficulty with cannabis pre hardcore drug addiction during drug addiction (drugs of choice heroin & meth but I could pretty much tolerate anything but weed) , now post drug addiction i can FINALLY tolerate it as a slightly unpleasant sleep aid that I sleep through (without my extensive drug experience I don’t think I’d ever learn to tolerate this one).

It’s purely medicinal to me though , I’ve tried time and time again to find the recreational in cannabis and I don’t understand it. This is to me an intoxication , not a high (cannabis is about as recreational as downing a bottle of caffeine pills , stoners don’t crucify me my opinion only )

MJ is legal here . Sometimes I see the premium kushes and some part of me wishes that was cocaine , or opium . I envy people that enjoy cannabis , but if I did , I certain I’d smoke all day and it would lose effectiveness as a sleep aid .

Still, I am very thankful to the cannabis plant for improving my sleep 💤

i still find it quite recreational, actually not medicinal at for me really

i began smoking at age 16-17 or so and I abused it pretty heavily for a year. then a year of psychedelic adventures and I couldn’t even handle one puff without severely social anxiety and paranoia hitting me

after a substantial break it still was bothering me with anxiety/paranoia. however, recently (like the last month or so) it’s been oddly pleasant. euphoric and pleasurable. just a little foggy memory but so much less anxious. delta 8 strains have almost zero anxiety compared to standard strains now too. which is why I like them so much

Well I’m happy for you . Though cannabis is far from my favorite , it’s the best to be a regular user to, in no order, 1. Socially 2. Legally 3. Health wise 4. Economically

I am currently experimenting with low does of delta 8 for sleep . I find it it “sleeker” than the delta 9.

No doubt cannabis is wonderful as a medicine worldwide . It is recreational to many people as well and that’s great - a part of me envies that

Edit : I also have to give credit where due. The “Diamond kush” was very helpful through heroin withdrawal

I have been a daily marijuana smoker for 15 years, ever since I quit using heroin, but recently lost my long term connection and have been having trouble finding a reliable source. I have tried hemp flower before and found it helpful for appetite and anxiety relief but no psychoactive effects to speak of, but came across some info about Delta 8 recently and decided to give it a try. Just for reference, years ago I also smoked JWH-018 and JWH-073 daily for a while so I'm familiar with various cannabinoids, not just D9.

I purchased 3.5g of hemp flower with Delta 8 from a local smoke shop, and as soon as I got home I smoked a bowl, having not consumed any cannabis yet that day. The hemp bud was of decent quality and the taste and smell was no different than regular marijuana, and it burned just like regular pot, no indication of anything added to it. The effects came on in about 10 minutes, and were like a mild to moderate high from regular THC but lacking any anxiety or racing thoughts. It did stimulate my appetite just like regular weed, and reduced anxiety and fulfilled my desire to smoke weed completely.

Being very impressed with the effects, reduced cost vs. regular marijuana and the legal status I decided that Delta 8 flower would definitely fill my need, so I ordered more online in a variety of strains as well as some Delta 8 oil. The flower from there is even higher quality and tastes and smells amazing, and has an even greater effect indistinguishable from decent quality weed. The only effect that is missing entirely is the anxiety or racing/spacy thoughts, an effect I like but many people don't.

The oil is just like BHO THC oil, it's mostly solid at room temperature but liquid when heated. I haven't been able to dab any yet because I'm waiting on a carb cap for my enail to arrive, but I've put the oil in bowls between flower and it is indistinguishable from regular BHO oil. Putting a bit in a bowl increases the effect of the D8 to be like a strong indica high, but still gives me zero anxiety or racing thoughts that a high dose of Delta 9 THC does. It tastes and smells incredible too, I can't wait to dab some! Best of all, regardless of the form or dosage I find the effects most similar to regular THC and unlike synthetics like JWH-018 or 073 which I found much more likely to cause anxiety, paranoia or irrational thinking.

Overall I'm super impressed with Delta 8 flower and especially the oil. I've always wished I had legal access to weed products of all kinds, and now I feel like I do. I stocked up on a variety of strains and a significant amount of oil just in case there's any future legal issues that limit access, and found it to be about 1/10 the cost of real pot. It fulfills my desire for marijuana fully, and so far the duration and tolerance buildup are basically identical to regular marijuana. I will definitely smoke regular pot again in the future when I have legal and cheap access to it, but for now I'm entirely content sticking with Delta 8, and that's saying a lot coming from someone who has smoked high quality weed daily for 15 years!

In my experience if anything it builds tolerance much faster. I also noticed it seems to have detectable metabolites in urine for much longer.

If you cant find bud, you can order seeds off the internet, and make your own at 1/10 the cost. Just an option. Glad d8 is working for you

It's nothing like the stuff used in Spice or anything like that. It isn't a synthetic cannabinoid. There is delta-8 naturally present in cannabis, in low quantities. So, there isn't the potential safety concern that there is with synthetic cannabinoids (e.g. that we don't know exactly what they do, because someone just cooked them up in a lab yesterday). Delta-8 overall feels more stimulating to me, but it's more clear headed, less disorienting, and more focused. It doesn't seem to cause as much cottonmouth as delta-9. It's a different type of effect, which could be better than delta-9 or less than ideal depending on what you're looking for. The reason why it's so cheap is that it's often made from CBD that gets converted into delta-8.

That just goes to show how subjective effects can be, I find D8 less stimulating than Delta 9 THC although I agree there does seem to be less cottonmouth. As for growing my own, living in a small apartment prevents me from doing that, at least for now.

I love d8, the main problem I find is that when you develop a tolerance you virtually don't get high at all anymore.

@CTdopeLove I do not recommend getting the flower with d8 sprayed on it. All the stuff I tried was horrible. I suggest buying the distillate or carts. I've heard the wax is good but never tried it. Edibles are also good but you need a lot.

I do not like THC vape carts so I don't think I would like the D8 carts, I've dabbed on a ceramic coil atomizer before but I prefer to smoke or vape flower and occasionally dab when I have access. As for tolerance and not getting high I'm sure I'll find the same especially using the oil, but the same is true of regular THC for me as well. Once my tolerance gets out of control I usually switch strains and microdose for a few days until my tolerance drops back down some.

I have purchased two ∆8 carts and I will purchase again. Here's why: 1) Affordable. I can barely buy a trash cart for under $60. 2) It's readily available, again I love in the south. 3) It gets me really high. Yeah it's a different high and not as satisfying but it's perfect for those time where I can't fit flower in.

IMO D8 has it's place, for sure.
Dude I level the shit

You ever get around to trying to THCV?
I just tried delta 8 thcv for the first time last night and found it pretty lacking in desirable effects unless I combined it with delta 8. This was through dabbing it in a rig.

I did not know d8-thcv existed... nor have I ever tried isolated d9-THCv before (in my mind this is still a mythical chemical from wild African Cannabis strains), however, descriptions of THCv make it sound like a boring sativa to me anyways (which I hate and find almost a waste of my weed $)

That's crazy. Did you try isolated pure d8-THCv? Distillate?

What were the qualitative differences compared to regular d8 or d9 THC? My mind imagines "more stimulating, less psychedelic" aka boring.
