I know there are a few threads on delsym but none of them really answer my question. i have a 145ml bottle with a total of 870mg of DXM polistirex. i weigh about 140 and took from 300mg up to 600mg the past few times when i tried DXM, i puked every time and never made it past 2nd plateau, most times only reaching first at that great fun but i just feel like theres more to the drug. so I'm wondering what would be a good dose to have a strong trip, maybe high 2nd or even high 3rd, i would try 4th but im not really well experienced and would like a bit more "time" with DXM before i take that dive.

I have some 50+ DXM trips under my belt, and I find all forms of syrups/pills/gelcaps/etc to be quite vile. I have only ever truly enjoyed the experience when using an extracted powder form.

My guess is you're completely overshooting the first plateau and have only experienced the 2nd. The first plateau is a tough thing to actually hit, and if you ever do you'd be surprised at how really mellow it is. For your body weight 159 mg to 477 mg is a 2nd plateau dose on a mg/kg ratio. 478-955 mg is third plateau. These doses are for DXM HBr and not poly tho. I'm pretty sure the equivalent doses arent that far off, but as poly is time release it can be a bitch. dont quote me on the hbr and poly doses being really close tho. I'm sure google has the answer if it isnt on here 5K times but atm I dont feel like searching. Keeping the poly down long enough to get a good dose can be a bitch, especially when you seem to be fairly new to dxm. All forms of otc dex are terrible on my insides so I concur with delta_9 on the powder thing. Sadly not everyone has access to it, which is probably why you are drinking delsym in the first place. DXM can be a fickle mistress at times my friend, we've been dancing for about 10 years and she still has some surprises left in her. Hope this helps.

yeah i cant get the powder, or do the extraction sadly, and i checked the calculator and by it i did a third plateau dose, but only got 2nd effects sadly, im planning on tripping tonight, how long do you think the timed release would make me wait for effects

probably going to be a minimum of 90 minutes to 2 hours before you starting getting the effects. Splacking shortly before that isnt all that bad but I guess nausea usually hits within the first hour, making it a real bitch. effects slowly build over time. I haven't done any otc dex in 5 years or so but a reliable source has advised maybe eating a bottle of gels an hour or so before hand and then imbibing a little less Delsym. Once the dxm has you, the delsym should stay down much better. I always stack my doses, even w/ powder. opting to take a 500 mg starting dose then 500 mg after 60-90 minutes. rinse and repeat.... though spacing out more then 2 doses probably isnt advisable.... when i was into dxm the delsym took about 2 hrs to kick in and it lasted another 10.

Yeah, 870 mg should be pretty solid. With Delsym slightly higher doses should be used and you should expect it to take longer to come up and last much longer too. I always found 800 mg-1 gram to be pretty solid from Delsym.

I got a bottle of delsym today, lets call it an experiment. It went down surprisingly well, even after 5+ years of no otc dex. No nausea at all, no splackage, tho I wish there was some.

so i took about 800mg dxm polistirex and all i can say is wow, now i know what a real DXM experience is. i never puked, but i did have some dry heaves which were rough, but i think thats why i got only 2nd plateau before i always puked after i drank that shit

For me when I used delsym I didn't find it took longer to come up , it for me , worked like normal syrup buy It lasted like 5 hours than I got 2 bottles of cough gels n ate em and let me just tell you that platau sigma is fuckin insain. haha.
