Hey all, i'm prescribed modafinil to combat lethargy and hypersomnia and it works extremely well except for one thing, I have difficulty waking up to take it in the first place, I usually wake up in the afternoon (despite having set multiple alarms in the morning, which I have no recollection of turning off) regardless of what time I go to sleep, so I'm wondering if there's any way of coating modafinil or doing something similar so that it doesn't kick in for 8 hours so I could take it before bed and not have to worry about waking up.

I realize the concept of not being able to wake up even briefly might seem silly to some but it is something that is a genuine issue for me, any help is greatly appreciated

Are you able to fall asleep on your own without other drugs? Or is your hypersomnia so strong that the effects of Modafinil are not causing you to be awake for 24hrs? I have issues waking up too and this was one drug I considered looking into but I would need to take some xanax before I went to bed if I took this. Also do you keep your alarms in your bedroom?

The closest I've found is Modafinil+Diphenhydramine, as the diphenhydramine antagonizes the effects of the modafinil for a fairly long term, but shorter than modafinil's effect.

Adrafinil is the prodrug to it, but metabolizes in only ~45 min, not a very ideal "time release modafinil"
