Stimulants Delayed-onset nerve damage from Dexedrine?

In April and May I used a fuckton of Dexedrine. 3000mg in a month and then 1800mg in 2 weeks, sometimes 200mg a day. Afterwards I felt fine besides a huge tolerance spike (natch), and I haven't used more than my prescription dose since then. Now since a few days ago I'm having weird unexplained pain, fibromyalgia-ish symptoms. My arms feel sunburnt, my ears hurt and I'm sore all over.

In this study:
Acute administration of high doses of amphetamine (d- or d,l-) has been shown to produce
long-lasting neurotoxic effects, including irreversible nerve fiber damage, in rodents. The
significance of these findings to humans is unknown.

And here:
Occasionally, pain after disease or trauma develops only after a prolonged interval. Examples include
late-onset pains which first occur months or years following a stroke, spinal cord lesion or amputation
of a limb; a previously experienced pain that is recalled years later; and latent pain triggered for the
first time by a further insult in the same area.

Could it be linked, did I actually fuck myself up and not even know? Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

I honestly don’t think it’s linked but I could be wrong…

I would advise you to go to your Dr and explain what’s going on.

The study you linked is not applicable. Trying to hypothesis how humans react to something based on rodent studies is very difficult. (I have conducted many many rodent studies myself).

It is true that dextroamphetamine is neurotoxic in high doses and I would encourage you to stick to your prescribed dose. I don’t think from what you’ve explained of your use that you’ve done any serious damage.

Ye, I doubt there'd be a 6 month grace period after the fact. Thanks for your reassurance

Okay...

Not to freak you out, but I'm on dexadrine as well and recently abused it for a month before dropping down to my normal dose daily. Well I thought the insane drowsiness was my only withdrawl symptom, but I also have had a type of muscle pain that I only get from exercising alot. I still have this pain and have for a few days now, surely this isn't a coincidence.

How long ago was that? Muscle pain is a known side effect, likely you were tensing up really hard a lot.

About a week or so ago, that's a good point though.

I mean even my faces muscles were slightly achy from tensing my nose up, and grinding my teeth. I can see me tensing my muscles being the cause of my pain, expessically considering that it feels literally identical to any other muscle pain I get from stressing my muscles too much.
