I think your brother's roomate is full of shit. Phamaceutical cocaine is only kept in hosptials, because it's only used in surgical proceedures. There's absolutely no reason for a pharamcy to carry cocaine. And $190 for a gram? Thats the most absurd thing I've ever heard, I don't care if Pablo Escobar rose from the dead and handed it to me himself, I would never pay that much. Shit, I could buy a gram of crack for $50 and turn it into pure coke HCl in less than an hour.

Dissolve crack in drops dilute of hcl acid(muriatic acid) until completely dissolved. Pour onto glass and evaporate. Cocaine hcl.

short, quick version (may contain some errors, i cant remember the exact specifics)

use 10mL distilled water per 1g cocaine. stick in the freezer for a while, to help insoluable cuts crash out and filter; add ammonia dropwise until pH is 8 or 9 i believe (no more than a few, 2-4, drops/g; if you overbasify, the cocaine freebase will become soluable again). remove water by some type of filtration. drop freebase in vodka or everclear (distilled water works too, but ethanol will dry faster and you get crystals) and add ~1mL muriatic acid per gram of cocaine. wait for it to all salt up with the hcl, then dry.

I think taste is a better judge of coke than color. If it tastes really salty and makes your tounge numb, it's generally good quality.

unless its been cut with a salt and novocaine.
because cocaine numbs your tounge if you lick it, like they do in films(they're not tasting it just seeing if their tongue goes numb), it is often cut with novocaine to simulate the effect.
The reall skills is being able to tell if too much novocaine has been used.
