Defining the "Nod"

I was always unclear to what this phenomenon was and I'm also not sure if this is the right section for this thread so bear with me.

To my understanding of the "nod" it is the pleasant drifting in and out of consciousness usually on a euphoric downer drug.

It's not only defined by opiates/opioids right? Because the nod is most pleasant on opiates/opioids because of the buzzing in your body and a state of nirvana is easily acquired.

But one can say they experience this from Cannabis. I can easily drift into Utopia on moderate-heavy dose ganja. Even alcohol. Benzos on the other hand is easy to nod but it's not euphoric like a dopamine agonist downer. It's a much heavier nod where it's easy to just knock-out.

I can even nod on Dxm. I was nodding in the most euphoria I've ever experienced the other day on 236mg Dxm after a big blunt. It was like a norco high x 50.

Even DPH Tbh has my mood lifted and I can "nod" on it with a mild-moderate sense of euphoria and drift into Utopia.

So I gues what in Trynna get at here is... Is my understanding of the nod correct? Or is it strictly to the opiates/opioids body high? Most users don't talk about the nod like how I am here with this variety of drugs.

The nod on opiates is nothing like what you think is a "nod" on cannabis. The opie nod is like your mind is down/relaxed/sleepy while your body is awake, but at the same time your body is numb. It's hard to describe. It's like being half awake and half asleep. Youll for sure have chink eyes like when your stoned though haha

I usually think of the nod as a uniquely opiate/opioid induced phenomenon. I can sorta nod on other substances, but it is a different experience. Leegrow is right, it is hard to describe. It isnt the same as falling asleep though. More of a semi-conscious in between state.

I 100% agree with you guys. The opiate/opioid nod is the best one. Definitely the most pleasant. And the nod on other drugs is different.

I just find that I can nod on other substances but it's not the same as the opie nod.

So to define it I would be correct by saying; "The Nod is a state of euphoria brought on by the effects of a dopamine-agonist depressant where the user drifts in and out of consciousness in a dream like state of personal Utopia" but the experience is fully appreciated mainly with opiates/opioids.

I've never opie nodded and was always curious of the sensation. Can it be compared to the feeling one experiences in the moments leading up to collapsing from say.. fatigue/heat exhaustion/etc ??

It is a sensation of feeling such pleasure and peace of mind that all one wants to do is be still and feel. It is not unconsciousness or even sleepiness. It is a relaxed, care-free, and relatively clear-minded state.

No, nodding is nothing like fainting.
Nodding on opi's is like being very sleepy and on the edge of sleep but with alot of euphoria added in.
Imagine those couple of mins before you drift off to sleep, with the odd dream just starting up...now imagine your whole body feels like its floating in perfect tempeture water, with wave of pleasure rolling up your spine and tingling warmth spreading out from your stomach to your fingertips....so, no its not like passing out.lol

if you're conscious without effort, that's not a nod to me. if you are typing out a message on BL and keep falling "asleep" intermittently while trying to post it, you are pretty much there. it's the point where keeping one's eyes open is possible, but extremely difficult due to sedation. euphoria will tend to increase when one gives way to closing their eyes, but if you can't stay awake with effort... ya took too much. if someone is passing out after dosing, that's not a nod, thats an OD (people think of OD = death but srsly it just means too much drug)

I'm able to more accurately understand "nodding" vicariously through the aforementioned detailed descriptions.

It is seemingly a debilitating drug, but talented persons such as Ray Charles are able to perform while nodding... maybe its during the comedown...??

And yea, I was always under the impression that OD=death, but I see the term being used sparingly on BL, so apparently, its not the case. (Psychadelic user here :) )

when your nodding, you are capable of snapping out of it. So your not 'debilitated' as such, just a bit slower and if left alone for a couple of mins are likely to drift back into a nod.lol

^ok. Now it makes sense. Heroin sounds cool :)
I would try it but I've heard there's no such thing as ''trying heroin'' in the sense that the 1st time will definitely not be your last.

^well it depends.
I tried heroin just once and have 0 interests in trying it again mainly because dope around here is quite shitty and I'd rather spend 2 € and be high for 2 days on bupe LOL.
but if you live in an area with cheap good heroin I see how easy it could be to fall into addiction.

I would advise you to try a less potent opiate/oid like codeine or dihydrocodeine or hydrocodone first.
If you go straight onto a potont opi like heroin you prob wont enjoy the experience as it will be a bit too much to handle and the side effects like vomiting/sedation will overpower the euphoria.

Might be a good idea to check out this thread first.

I always tell myself that heroin will be the death of me. So I placed it on my 'no-no' list. Along with PCP, crack, RC's, and meth. But if I knew I could try it once and only once I would snort it. I don't like needles and smoking anything but weed and tobacco. So if the day comes and I know for sure I'll never do it again. Id get some and snort it and experience a real nod.
Though, the hydro nod is so blissful. I'll be trying Oxy when I go up to canada this summer too.
