Please help...
I've have recently been diagnosed with adhd... They started me on vyvanse, at which point I stopped drinking my multiple daily monster energy drinks due to the absorbic and citric acid in it. However I had to stop vyvanse over the weekend because it was giving me severe dsyphoria and depression ...so I started my monsters back up of course:) I Went to the doctor today and had him switch my meds... Today I started 30mg adderall xr but I took it with the monster i had bought with out thinking (I was back in the habit) and received very little effect at all...I know the acidity decreased the absorption but I guess I'm wondering can it decrease it that drastically...

I'm really tired of my adhd, it effects my life horribly and so far I havent had any luck with my meds (granted this is only the second med we've tried--but the vyvanse was a HORRIBLE experience and really discouraged me)...I guess I'm worried that since the acid in my drink rendered my Adderall almost ineffective that it going to be too weak of a dose and Ill still be getting nowhere and I don't think the doctor was happy about me wanting my med changed 4 days after I started it.

Any other advice on thing to avoid or try would be much appreciated :)

The effect of vyvanse vs. adderall is widely variant and it can be difficult to calculate an 'equivalent' dose. That said, the 30mg XR Adderall might be a weak dose for you (though it has certainly worked for me in the past). The monster energy drink is almost certainly not the issue, but you may need to talk to your doctor about 'tweaking' your dose ;)

Try taking tums / gaviscon or baking soda with it. The acidic drink absolutely will reduce the effectiveness of Adderall as they warn against drinking orange juice etc. in the paper that comes with it.
