Opioids decade old ibuprofen

Got a few vicoprofen that expired in 2000. I know the hydro has lost potency, but I'm more worried about the degradation of the ibuprofen...they're in sealed blister packs, so not exposed to air, unsure about temp. I know they degrade into some toxic products, I was going to do a CWE for sure but will this be enough, or should I simply resist the urge?

I've eaten pills that were almost as old as this, and they seemed to work. I'd imagine temperature plays a big role... But if they're sealed away from air, and haven't been sitting out in direct light for years or anything, I'd give them a go.
 
Ibuprofen has a much shorter use by date than ten years, but I suppose doing a CWE with a good filter would make it safe, whether or not it's already safe.

This is not true, there are no guarantees.

MOST medications that are aged beyond their shelf life (exp date) simply lose efficacy over time, however some meds can become toxic. It really is much better from a safety standpoint to just discard old meds, especially if they are that much past their exp date.
 
They're 7.5's, and I have enough of them to get a nice buzz going :D

The problem is that I'm also on lithium, which is VERY contraindicated with ibuprofen, so I'm going to have to be extra special with my cwe. If anyone has experience with lithium and ibuprofen i'd really appreciate the input :)
 
I don't think anyone here has information about how safe this is beyond speculation and especially since you're taking something that's contraindicated with ibu, I think the only real harm reduction advice is to not do it.

Often people come on here knowing they should do or not do something and they're just looking for someone to say its ok. Idk if this is what you're after but in the interest of HR, I'm going to close this.
