In practice hanging ended in the late 1960's & it's worth noting for the purpose of this thread that one of the last people to be hanged was an innocent man!
His name was Derek Bentley & he had the 'mental age' of a very young child.
He was given a posthumous Royal pardon in the 1990's.It was widely accepted even at the time of his conviction that he was innocent .

What happened to Derek Bentley was terrible. He wasn't even the one who pulled the trigger (he got off coz he was only 16,only spent about 10yrs in jail)
If you lock someone up then new evidence comes to light you can always let them out. If you hang an innocent person all the posthumous pardons in the world aren't gonna bring them back.

for. i hate though that this corrupt government decides who gets theirs. if i could dole out the punishment, it would be just.
 
The only instance i condone the death penalty is for people who have been convicted of pedophilia and there is absolutely no dought they did it, that its 100% evidentially proven.
 
I voted kill kill kill but this only applies to paedophiles and rapists (and sick torturing murderers who had no valid (i decide whats valid, btw) reasons for killing)..

I believe that rapists and paedophiles should take the place of rats and monkeys in animal testing labs.. if science can't think of somethin to do with em.. they should be killed.. by family members / friends of victims (if they wanted to) or just someone appointed to doing so.

These types of criminals should have NO place in society except as subjects to test new medicines / technologies on.. and finally to fertilise our soil.

Hey thats actually a really good idea.. using people who have no place in society as test subjects. Would help science alot thats for sure.
 
putting something like death in the hands of humans just sounds bad.
 
If I got sentenced to death I would put in a request for a bullet to the head and to be burned shortly thereafter. I personally think that is much more humane and cheaper than being watched by stone-cold faces on the other side of a two-way mirror while I'm stuck with some kind of government cocktail that eases me out of this world in a pathetic, lackluster way.
