You take my breath like so many trees
You tattoo my skin with roads and ways
You mine my blood like malevolent disease
Where do you want to go today?
I'll take you there, I'll let you sleep
And you will learn to love

You harvest fertility like a pedophile
You suck like a leeching tick
I've been blaming you all the while
Does the piece of this puzzle yet fit?
Please don't build for me a pile
To your supposed heaven above

I can feel the tention growing
All of your war your hate and your greed
There's nothing on earth you can show me
That I have not already seen
You are living my dream

I try to tell you that this hurts
But my pleas go unheaded
I leave clues like footprints in dirt
But you can't hear my screaming
The puzzle is not as it should seem

One day you will learn
Someday you might apologize
For what you took but didn't earn
Then will you see my eye
Shed a tear...

Sincerely, your planet.

This is a strange yet fascinating piece. I love the little twist added in the end. You had me thinking on a different route the entire time........although it could have been percieved that way too. Great!

Same here. I was thinking along other lines and then the twist brought it together at the end.

I like the emotion attached to it. Angry but not full blown hate, and very forceful - at least that's what I get out of it :)

The whole point was to write of mankind's abuse of their planet from the planet's perspective.

Thanks for the nice words :)

i see saddness coming out of this,,,,, the point i had at the beginning,,,, it was a very somber piece, outstandingly done!
