Hey guys :)so as some of you know I have about 3 weeks clean off opiates, tramadol was my doc but really I'd take any type you handed to me, and I originally started using them because I actually do have fibromyalgia and chronic migraine. I'm waiting for my insurance to kick in at work to go back to the doc....I've got about another month to go. I can't afford to go and pay cash, and today is the first day I've had some real terrible pain that I can't seem to deal with. Sure I've been achey and painful through withdrawal but this is on another level. The fibro pain in my lower body is excruciating today and I'm having a hard time dealing. I know taking a couple pills would make me less miserable and maybe be able to get some stuff done today....Ugh. this is hard. Just hoping maybe someone can give me some non prescription suggestions that may help until I can go see a Dr... :( I've had some serious mental cravings for some pain pills so far but this pain coupled with them might just break me: (

I am interested in this also.

I need surgery on my shoulder soon and realistically it's for the best if I don't receive any opiate pain meds for aftercare.

Have you tried a TENS machine? Or heat pads are useful for lots of people.

I found this resource a bit ago and found it really had allot of potentially good information

non-opioid therapies for pain

after suffering for almost five years with it and other symptoms commonly associated with fibro.. I did a whole bunch of research. research that lead me straight into what I have tried to do with addiction. Here is a thread that has some basics. I started looking at fibro as a just one of many diseases that are better grouped together, as symptoms of pan hypothalamic dysregulation. I belive that many suspected autoimmune diseases will be caused by this. I came to the conclusion, took this approach and was 85% better in less than four weeks. I have made a full recovery from sarcoidosis, fibro, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel, Psoriasis . completely symptom free going on two years. No shit within five months I was symptom free except for some PAWS from kicking all the crazy pain meds I was on at the end.

Some of what I think is in here. Im not the only one this has worked for. I have received positive PM's from others as well.

n article I wrote on help with withdrawal, inspired by the Thomas Recipe

I have more information on this let me know if your interested.

^That link doesn't work anymore.

You'd have to see your doc, but celebrex and lyrica are non-opiate drugs that can help with pain.

naproxen is bomb for muscle pain. and migraines have their own specialized meds. i think you should get a prescription for something that will help. otc is probably not going to be enough.
