Deaf in one ear on come-up

Hello bl!

Last friday I took some quality E. Had a good night and all. Only weird thing is, during the come-up, sometimes I couldn't hear trough one ear, like when I was talking I could only hear myself trough 1 ear. It's like when an airplane is going up/landing and you need chewing gum cause your ears are like 'closed'.When I swallowed it would be gone for like 3 seconds then come back. After half an hour it went away though.
Anyone else have this?

I've also experienced this - not often but it has happened two or three times. For me it's not during the come up but a little later during the high. It has only happened in one ear - I'm not sure if it's been the same one each time, but I go totally deaf in one ear. The first time it happened I was terrified and thought somehow I had lost my hearing forever. It's still not fun when it happens, but at least when it happens now I know it won't last long - it's probably only a few seconds but it can feel like forever.

I initially thought it was due to adulterated MDMA, but I've experienced it on clean MDMA.

Glad someone else experienced this also, i'm kinda interested in what causes it.

I know on long term come downs people get issues with tinnatus and jaw problems.

When MDMA takes effect it messes with the bodies sensors. fluid requirements, urination, enhanced hearing, enhanced vision. The enzymes also take a hit, HPA-Axis takes a hit, plus your serotonin network is on overdrive.

I wouldnt be surprised to hear the ear senses are messed in some way causing this.

Certainly an area for a bit of googling and research.

This is quite peculiar indeed. The only experience I can relate to this is when I used to do opiates such as suboxone as a teenager, I would start to feel pressure in my ears right around the jaw line, almost like an ear infection.

But seriously how inconvenient is that!? How are you supposed to fully appreciate the surround sound stereo experience when deaf in one ear?
Sorry, I don't mean to make light of your suffering but that's the first thing that came to mind. I suggest going to an ear specialist if this persists, your hearing, much like your eye sight is not something to mess around with.

Is it possible you stood too close to a speaker and because of how good it felt didn't notice you were doing damage? I really hope this isn't the case because if it is I'm afraid you might not be getting your hearing back. I don't mean to alarm you unnecessarily but I feel its important to mention because anyone can damage their hearing this way and from a harm reduction stand point people should br warned that this can and does happen.

Edit: I'm very glad to see this went away. Count your blessings my friend. It now sounds a lot like my experience with opiates in the first paragraph. I know exactly what the pressure your describing feels like.

My best guess is that you were chewing up a storm and this caused a build up of pressure from fluids in your ear. If this happens again try holding your nose and gently exhaling. This will help even out the pressure of your inner ear and the outside world.

I find this happens when my blood pressure gets too high, always on stimulants.

I went all starry eyed reading that part. If only such an upgrade could be downloaded and applied like a software patch. CuddlePuddle v3.1 Mmmmm <3
