As of October 21st, 2011, Methylone, Mephedrone and MDPV have been emergency scheduled in Schedule I of the CSA by the DEA. My question is what does this mean for the pill market? These chemicals were used by pressers because they were more easily available and cheaper then true MDMA. Now that they are just as illegal, is there a chance we see a return of more pills that contain legitimate MDxx? Your thoughts please :)

Possible, in the uk when methedrone was made illegal the mdma/pill market improved. Exactly how much influence it had is debatable it may have been a coincidence but the demand for mdma shot up.

It's hard to say whether the mephedrone criminalisation had any impact on the sudden increase in E quality, as it could have had as much to do with the fact that pills got to the point where they were of such ghastly quality that users refused to buy them. I certainly know that many didn't bother with E when they became chalk-full of shitty piperazines and subsequently, nobody bought them. In the past months though, they seem to have gone up in quality massively.

Maybe, but new RC's are coming out all the time. Plenty of still legal stims are on the market. MDPV, Methylone etc might not be passed off as mdma anymore, but something else could. But on the other hand, maybe it will make things better, and the scene will get better. One can only hope.

The pressers who were using those as they were a 'legal alternative' will simply switch to 'another' chemical.
