Hi guys (and gals)...
Thanks for the feedback;) now, if I may also ask:
I am pleased w methadone... And want to thank you all for feedback to ease my apprehension.
So, with my doc's okay.. I'm going to try the 'done w oxy.
My question to the experienced/versed;
How long after my morning dose of oxy 30's which ranges from one to two... Should / can I take my 10 mg methadone?
In addition to (& partly because actually) the longer lasting aspect of 'done - this'll likely lengthen my monthly oxy supply.
All opinions, suggestions, experiences ARE encouraged!
And again, (I hope I don't need to keep repeating this); I DO realize these are opinions I'm asking for and I DON'T consider same as med advice, so don't let a liability worry hinder your respone(s).
In advance, thank you people.

personally i would say to take the done first and then take the oxy for breakthrough pain even tho they are extended release now but thats just me

Thanks paper,
Tell me... Does there or maybe should there be any certain amount of time before taking an o xy for BTP ??

It depends how sedated you are from the methadone and what your tolerance is but as a general rule if they are prescribed for breakthrough pain then the idea is you can take them whenever you need them.. I'd wait an hour or so for the methadone to kick in before contemplating taking any top-up painkillers though, to check if you actually need them or not and make sure you aren't over-sedated.

^An excellent point.

Dosing methadone can be tricky because it takes a long time to fully kick in. As effie said, wait a solid 60 to 90 minutes before dosing any more opiates.

Haha the oxycodone for breakthrough pain. Topping up the background analgesia from the methadone.

Be cautious with methadone. As mentioned above it can take a long while before it gets kicking in properly, even longer than an hour or two.
