Day After-taste?

Okay, I've been wondering for quite awhile if this is just a me thing, or if everyone gets this. The morning after I roll, I always tend to have this horrible taste in the back of my throat that lingers ALL DAY, no matter what I try to do to get rid of it. I think I might even partially have that taste while I roll, but I'm too busy... well... rolling, to pay much attention to it.

Anyway, I can't describe it. It's tart in an awkward/bitter way. But that description doesn't do it justice. It also means that even though I'm generally starving the next day, everything I eat tastes awful. I know stimulants in general affect your appetite and the way you taste food... but damn. I tried to eat a Quizno Sub and a Dr. Pepper yesterday, and I almost dry heaved, it was so bad.

The only exception is that I can eat Phở, and it tastes fine. I almost made a thread about this instead, because it's an AMAZING hangover food, and super healthy/nutritious. I always feel so much better after I eat it.

Anyway. Been rolling off and on for a few years, and always test my stuff, so this is not the doing of dirty pills. I just want to know if anyone has a better explanation, or if you too suffer alongside me with the mouth grossness of doom on comedown day xD
 
Don't drink soda, drink sum water :3

do you hydrate while rolling? Usually weird taste in my mouth has to do with dehydration/cigs
 
Sometimes I notice a strange taste in the back of my throat while/after rolling. I've often wondered what it was too.

Though mine may have been from impure pills, as I noticed the last time I got piperazine pills (bleh) I had this terrible taste that stuck with me the entire roll.

If you test your pills and they come up clean, then who knows! 8o

For me it had a distinct chemical taste. Though as I said, it may have been something in the pill. The two times I experienced it, I was feeling all kinds of horrible. Extreme nausea, physical pain, sweats and chills. And the same exact taste in the back of my throat. Most definitely a dangerous chemical.

Are certain piperazines ever known to leave a terrible taste in your mouth? It was quite nauseating. I will never drop a pill again without testing it beforehand :o

wadsworth if you dont mind me asking how do you normally dose? Same question to you guys who have the same issue. What you normally do when you roll? (besides roll) I mean going to events or chilling with friends etc

MDMA doesn't typically cause those effects, nor the chemical after taste. Never got that before, but the bolded effects are typically caused by piperazines.
 
I drink plenty of water when I roll, sometimes more than I should (because I get dry mouth like nobody's business). So I dunno.

Pills were definitely clean. I have to test pretty thorough, because if my boyfriend gets something that isn't clean, it's can be dangerous (more-so dangerous than usual for a normal person) and we like to minimalize the risks.

I don't know if I would describe it as a chemical taste either. I'll pay more attention to it next time, so I can describe better.

I normally dose 2, then 1 an hour later. Sometimes I just take one (if they're hella good and I haven't rolled in a few months) or two, and don't re-dose at all. I space my rolling sessions to once a month or every other month. Usually not any sooner than every other month, but the past two times I rolled 4 weeks apart instead.
 
only had a bad day-after taste once after rollin... everything i ate tasted really bitter. have no idea why though, it was with really good pills too.
 
I'm on the same boat as you. Ever since my first roll, the day after has always been horrible in terms of eating food. I've come to the conclusion - and I could be wrong - that it's due to the meth mouth you get while rolling. All the jaw clenching, all the tongue and cheek biting, all the dry mouth you get while rolling hits you like a truck the next day. Anybody care to chime in on my theory?

I do think that this has a lot to do with it - often people forget and suck the insides of the mouth or push the tounge on the roof of the mouth etc. Its not until the following day when you realise how bad it was.

Best advice for this is magnesium to stop the chewing/gurning - stay hydrated and when you come down rinse your mouth with something like salty water or gargle with a dissolvable painkiller or better still invest in a medicated mouth/throat spray.

The day after try and eat something soft / cold - certain fruits, soups basically something wet and avoid trying to eat dry food like bread, chips, pizza etc.
 
I firmly agree with the OP on this one.

Every time I rolled I would have a strange taste to my saliva, the next day.
Although I smoked, I rarely ground my teeth or chewed much.
While smoking too much did lead to bad breath, brushing would alleviate this.

Instead, this strange taste seemed to emanate from within.
It found its way into my salivary glands and stayed there for day or more.
I could taste the change in enzymes, quite easily.
It was not that bad, but it was undeniable.
Kind of a stale, sickly taste being excreted into my mouth...

If I took lower quality tabs, this often had a dirtier taste to it.
But even clean beans made this happen.
I then realized I was getting some of this while rolling.

All of us have surely tasted a change in saliva while on the drug, right?

Ok, does everyone know that serotonin is made from the SAME singular source as STOMACH BILE? No shit.

Also, 95% of serotonin and serotonin receptors are found in the intestines!

Tryptophan, an amino acid found in protein, is converted into both digestive enzymes which are highly acidic AND a neurotransmitter that is slightly acidic. While the bile is key to breaking down the food chemically, the serotonin is responsible for the contraction of smooth muscle in the intestines. Without it, intestinal motility doesn't happen.

The network that connects the intestines to the brain is what MDMA is taking advantage of.

If it weren't for the mind-boggling complexity of this 'brain-gut' connection, 'rolling' would NOT be possible.

It makes sense that exhausting your supply of serotonin could result in a change of enzymes. In fact it is known - MDMA inhibits many enzymes, including TPH. This is what causes the production of more serotonin to halt.

Not only does serotonin has an effect on the stomach, intestines, and saliva, but it is also found in cerebral spinal fluid. It seems to be critical in the gut AND the brain.
 
Meth mouth mate. Happened to me yesterday, got absolutely shitfaced on MDMA but two of the many bombs I took didnt go down. Came back up and disintegrated in my mouth. Fucking awful. everything I drink tastes like MD at the moment, and its fucking awful.
 
I am not claiming that I can taste the tab itself and tell whats in it.

What I am saying is that I always got a change in the taste of my saliva during the days following MDMA.

If I used tabs that just didn't 'feel' like the best of rolls, especially if there is more STIM than euphoria, the day-after taste always seemed to be less tolerable.

Of course, I eventually started testing my gear, like everyone should.
This is the only way to know what adulterants, if any, are present.
But this doesn't change my repeated observations about the funny taste.

I'm telling you, Splinter - you can taste serotonin, or the lack of, in your saliva.
It just makes sense....it is a cousin of stomach bile.

Please dont come on bluelight spouting this nonsense. You CaN NOT tell how much serotonin a pill contains by tasting it...pills dont even contain serotinin!
