day 28 vivitrol, fetanyl and oc

Sorry haven't been on this sight in years hopefully posted in the right spot. Searched around but couldn't an find an answer.


My friend got the vivitrol shot 4 times. His last shot was 28 days ago now. He has some fetanyl patches. A couple days ago he chewed on one for a while but didn't feel anything.

He has like 10 mg of oc maybe 15 if he didnt lose 5 of it and another fetanyl patches.

He was wondering if anyone had any experience with the shot and when things would start to work. It it suppose to last a month but he has gotten it 4 months in a row. Just would hate to waste more stuff even though he wants to get high.

you gotta ride that one out. Plasma levels do start to go down the second half of the month, but having been on it for 4 months that's probably not even true. Don't waste your stuff - wait.

I could always shoot after 21-24 days! at the 28 day mark he should be fine to take something; from what I've heard/seen/been through, 28 days is more than enough.

You think if he was able to feel suboxone that the vivitrol has worn off?

suboxone? thought we were talking fent? is he can "feel" a suboxone then he better be careful doing the fent, ha.

I've been curious if fetanyl or another analog would be strong enough to break through the vivitrol with a relatively small dose. Im told this is a bad idea because 1. Vivitrol lowers tolerance threshold and makes you more sensitive to opiates after discontinuing.
2. The amount required to break thru the block is basically a lethal dose once that block is no longer in effect. So you go from nothing to OD
I have heard of people having some luck but I was in jail with a kid who managed to override the block only to OD and end up in jail. I'm starting to wonder if the reason there is no first hand experiences with fetanyl overriding the block is because those people that were successful are all dead. Best to stick with buprenorphine if you want any type of opiate comfort while on naloxone
