Day 24 off Suboxone 16mg cold turkey. Losing hope

deadmau I'm not sure if you'll have access to this, but I found Clonidine amazing when I was going through my Suboxone withdrawals. Got rid of my restless legs and put me to sleep as well.

Unfortunately I don't, my ex-gf sub doctor prescribed it for when we were coming off OC but she stopped filling it a couple of months ago. Sad that I didn't stockpile or even save any, in fact, I threw some out at one point sigh.

deadmau youre going to be sleeping soon, i slept the past 3 nights for the first time. you only have a week left maybe at the most id bet.

hot baths, tons of aleve, and some chelated magnesium will help. i wish i had that when i went through the worst. my heart was pounding for like a week.

Whats the situation with the WD's? 16 is pretty huge to come off.... did you stick it out?

Day 19 cold turkey off of 24-32 mgs a day for just under a year it took 17 days to leave my body. Boy what a rollercoaster of pain emotion and suffering. I had ativan for day 8 and 9 then my wife flushed em haha thats her way of helping me I guess. The worst is over still cant sleep and everything I eat comes back out in 10 mins but compared to day 8-16 is a breeze. Move around as much as you can IT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER, I missed work on day 9 only I couldnt get off the couch, I climb and trim trees for a utility company work was and still is hell BUT when I get home I feel somewhat better than I would if I lay on the couch all day, ive noticed couch days are my worst. I had no choice but to work have to support my wife and daughter. This thing gets better with time and only time I feel again and everyday I get a little piece of my life back. If anyone at all needs support dont hesitate im here to help. Im 28 been a junkie for 8 years quit subs at 3 to 4,.8 Mg pills a day up my nose im telling you if I can do it anyone can and I mean anyone. Once you jump on that rollercoaster just hold on tight till it comes to a stop. Good luck in your recovery!

OP sorry you're going through this shit. Did you reduce your dosage, or stop your dose cold btw? I will soon be beginning a gradual taper, and I'm trying not to get in too negative frame of mind; we've all heard the horror stories, but I believe the right combination of drugs can all but eliminate WD, based on my research.

I think if I'd known how protracted a bupe detox can really be (I've heard reports of 2-months of withdrawal and sleepless nights then I may not have chosen bupe in the first place. The thing is, I started taking them around 10 years ago, it was the "subutex craze" in the UK then; misinformed DR's believed it to be the magic bullet for opiate addiction, and many believed suboxone detox would be completely painless. I still encounter this attitude a hell of a lot, actually.

I'm not condoning the use of opiate drugs here, but when I was as sick as a dog
Following a script mix-up (I was given a fraction of my regular dose) I found tramadol to be a life-saver; it eliminated around 90% of my symptoms. When the time came to taper down my tramadol use, I found the process painless. I believe kratom could potentially help you a lot here, although it isn't cheap. It won't get somebody like you in withdrawals high, but it is an agonist, and in the right doses it could give you some limited relief. Kava could be of help in reducing your anxiety and restlessness.

Of course, doing it my way would involve using drugs; It's possible you don't want to touch another drug as long as you live-and I respect that. Speaking for myself, I have a very low pain tolerance, particularly for WD symptoms; I could never do it cold turkey. I have to say though, you're doing seriously well. It's quite likely you're through the worst of it now. Hope you feel better soon.
