The yearly cycle is based on seasonal change
Plants and animals grow large in summer and die in fall
Then decompose with the wet winter
Their remains nourish soil and air
Young seedlings and ideas tentatively sink roots into enriched earth
The ever growing sun encourages them upwards
Relentless frost halts all progress, until it melts and waters
May the new year bring us joy and health
It is the way of life
love,
Hanley
