I actually had an avatar for years. It was a little word bubble from a webcomic called Suicide Boy. It said: "Step on me, I go squish". I found it hilarious at the time, but all I had to edit the image was Paint, and it looked like it. Eventually I just got rid of it, and have had some half-assed attempts to get a new one.

The most recent attempt produced my profile image. It was an animated gif that struck me as looking cool, but I couldn't get the file size small enough to work as an avatar and not look like complete shit. I think the last actual avatar I had was the Transient smiley from Transmetropolitan, but when my grandfather passed last year I didn't think it was appropriate to keep up. Just never bothered to replace it.

So maybe I should start looking for a new one then? AFAIK betting is fine, as long as you cut me in on the winnings

I can, however, understand the difficulty in finding that avatar that is just right. You have many facets of your personality that need to be captured just right so I guess we can be patient (but not too patient!)
