Hey all,
Just so you all know, I am NOT the type of person who digs anticholinergic delirium, I think it's a silly thing to do. I am well aware of the risks of tropane alkaloids. I am not seeking a hallucinogenic experience.
You see, I bought my mother some Datura Inoxia seeds for her garden three years ago, and she loves them. Each autumn, the pods crack and drop their seeds. Last night I collected a large amount of seed (about half a sandwich bag full) and I want to explore my subconscious with a TINY (and I emphasize that--TINY) dose because I have heard of the vivid, profound, insightful dreams it can produce at low doses.
I DO NOT want to trip on Datura, I'm a grown man and I know better. But I want to pursue the dream world. Does anybody know how many seeds I should ingest? Like maybe 10-20 seeds? Or if the seeds would be the best part to ingest (I also have a few dried flowers).
If nobody can offer any advice, I will just start experimenting with small amounts and work may way up until the experience is...well, experienced :)

Sigh. It's impossible to say the dose for Datura. It could be three seeds, it could be forty. Why would you take the risk to found out. All your looking for is some "profound dream experience" your looking in the wrong place Mr. Shaman. Your going to get a lot more than you bargained for with Datura. I had both the seeds and plant material in various forms. Trust me your not going to go into some sleep state. There's ways to do that with Datura but certainly not with seeds.

I really think you should forget it. I personally have not been using it, but few friends who are quite experience space cadets have and they said that it was simply the most awful experience thay ever had. The reason they used it was because they had found some seeds and they were bored. It is quite common plant here in Finland, but nobody uses it since it can really mess up your mind... =D

I've been curious too, thing is almost everybody winds up in hospital or cannot remember the ordeal anyway. I use the word ordeal as the 'experience' itself is often one of genuine suffering.

If you must experiment i advise you start off with a few leaves & have some trip sitters around, a doctor preferably.

Yeah, I decided it wasn't worth it and put the seeds where they belong--scattered in the garden. Since I am not a scientist or anything, I have no clue as to how potent these plants are. Common sense and fear of the unknown outweighed my curiosity. I don't think I'll ever try Datura. I've never experienced anticholinergic delirium, and have no desire to do so...especially accidentally.
Besides, they are beautiful plants, and the flowers smell amazing (almost like Fruit Loops). So simply watching them grow and seeing the flowers open at night is enough of an experience for me. Such a mystical plant.
Mods go ahead and close this, unless you want to have a Datura thread open...though I see no Harm Reduction value in it.
