Clear sky tonight, lots of stars, my Brugmansia sp. is flowering. I couldn't find that "picture of the day thread" so I thought I'd share these beaultiful images with you. If a mod can find that thread feel free to move it.
These are Datura flowers, both white and white/red ones I got in my garden.

Datura a.k.a. Jimson weed is nothing to fuck around with. The difference between a fatal dose and a "regular dose" (which wouldn't even be all that pleasant) is so small... be careful....

everyone i know knows some crazy fucker who tripped on jimson weed(datura, belladonna, etc) and never came back. I know at least two people personally who will never come back-- theyre just to far gone.

The pictures are blurry because I took them at night and yeah using my phone.
I never said I was going to shoot anything. I just thought these were beaultiful pictures and I'd share them with you. Stupid of me to think that anyone would appreciate it. I know this isn't the right forum, I just was in a great mood when I posted this, sorry I guess.

I think Datura is safe and fun. Many years ago when I was in highschool a few buddies and I decided to make a Datura tea composed of mainly several flowers and ground seeds. Anyway to make a long story short we all had a wonderful trip. I remember at one point having a conversation with a frog about the evolution of Amphibians.... Another vivid hallucination I recall was looking up at the night sky and seeing a colorful and massive firework display going off right over my head.... it was insane....other strange and yet magical things occured during the trip but you can read the full trip report over at Erowid. We made Datura tea on several other occasions and each time it produced a wildly different yet enjoyable trip.

Some people find it enjoyable, my first trip indeed was. The 2nd trip however had me in the hospital. Datura is not safe in any way, it can cause a full kidney shut down (the reason you can't piss) and you can easily die.

IME, datura is not something you want to try to get high on, at least by itself. The only safe way to use datura is in low dosages and never more than 1 gram and far less without tolerance. Datura is one of nature's most powerful antihistamines and should be treated with respect and used only extremely carefully.

It's safer to just use diphenhydramine and some synthetic form of atropine like homatropine. So you don't have to worry about overdosing and it's no as unpleasant.

Some tips:

1.Make sure you have a good sitter (one that can hold you down)
2. Lots of water to drink (but not too much)
3. Some kind of cholinergic like nicotine, betel, or muscarine, incase you want the effects to die down a little.
4. Have some caffeinated beverages incase you get too drowsy.

I think you mean anti-cholinergics

anticholinergics (scopolamine, atropine, diphenhydramine, etc.) act as competitive antagonists at specific muscarinic acetylcholine receptors.

Choline and its metabolites are needed for cholinergic neurotransmission in the body. So it blocks the effects of anti-cholinergics.

What do you mean they never came back? They got lost somewhere? Are they in a nut house thinking they are glass of orange juice?
