DESCRIPTION
Propoxyphene napsylate, USP is an odorless, white, crystalline powder with a bitter taste. It is very slightly soluble in water and soluble in methanol, ethanol, chloroform, and acetone. Chemically, it is (aS,1R)-a-[2-(Dimethylamino)-1-methylethyl]-a-phenylphenethyl propionate compound with 2-naphthalenesulfonic acid (1:1) monohydrate. Its molecular weight is 565.72.
Propoxyphene napsylate differs from propoxyphene hydrochloride in that it allows more stable liquid dosage forms and tablet formulations. Because of differences in molecular weight, a dose of 100 mg (176.8 mmol) of propoxyphene napsylate is required to supply an amount of propoxyphene equivalent to that present in 65 mg (172.9 mmol) of propoxyphene hydrochloride.
Each Darvocet-N 50 tablet contains 50 mg (88.4 mmol) propoxyphene napsylate and 325 mg (2,150 mmol) acetaminophen.
Each Darvocet-N 100 tablet contains 100 mg (176.8 mmol) propoxyphene napsylate and 650 mg (4,300 mmol) acetaminophen.
Each tablet also contains amberlite, cellulose, FD&C Yellow #6, magnesium stearate, stearic acid, titanium dioxide, and other inactive ingredients.

as far as recreational value? How much to take, and how? Not "put it in your mouth, swallow", wise ass. And how much acetominophen is too much? B/C I know Tylox has 500mg of acet. and 5mg of Oxy.

To catch a buzz you will need at LEAST 200mg of propoxyphene - don't worry about the APAP, a few nights of fun wont hurt you..

It is generally accepted that you shouldn't exceed 4000mg of APAP in a 24 hr. period. It is very can be very hepatotoxic (hepato- liver) of a length of time.
I had a little experimentation with Darvocet the other night. I hadnt gotten a chance to read this post, but i took 100mg of it, along with 4 shots of 80 proof rum. I hardly ever drink or take these, and i didnt feel a thing. Maybe its just me? Ive had more success with tylenol 3 than this. I need to get some onxy's!

Personally I need at least 4 of the N-100's to get anything and when I do get a buzz, it's not even that great. My dr. prescribed them to me for back pains and told me they were stronger than t3. Well not for me, t3's are much enjoyable for me. Darvocet is not the most enjoyable opiate out there - - by far.

i'd say a 100mg darvocet is stronger than a 30mg t3, isn't like 50mg of codeine equal to 100mg of propoxyphene or something like that.
