Your double slit
Darkness smiles upon the deep.
Nuclear ambience-
Atomic corona-
Skye's aflame-
Clouds a'smoulder-
Bloody ether-
Auburn eclipse-
Welkin shimmer-
The sun has set.

Last nights sunset (or last days nightbreak??) was utterly superb.

Superbly imaginified (yeh i made that up)

I love sunsets just as much as i love sunrises, although i think former rightly comes in first place for me :)

I enjoyed this alot, plus I think I picked up a bit of direction there....very essential words. are there any poets that you have come across that inspired this style?

Fantastic poem. Simple, yet very evocative. Have you thought about publication?

lol.
publication? to me the poet's world is like the entertainment industry with less money, more charlatanry...like an old violin from fuck knows where that's beaten to shit, still skreeking away, as far from being profitable as oil from Middle Earth

like the images, too many sweet-toned words in a small space though...the magic needs to be "spaced out" by gray mundanity...well no needs, just a minute suggestion

I like the middle four the most
"Skye's aflame-
Clouds a'smoulder-
Bloody ether-
Auburn eclipse-"

very experimental, nice

I'd like to alter those a bit for my eye...

"Skye's aflame,
Clouds on 'er shoulder,
Blood in her tethered
orgasmic hairs fading"

^^ who said anything about profit? Publication is a way to share your work, perhaps to inspire others. I had a friend who was a poet, and he was very happy to have a few of his poems published in a literary journal; it's a very satisfying feeling to be able to speak to people through your poems.

i didnt mean profit as in money...more like, the effort of trying to get published, the time, isnt worth it so much as keeping to write poetry, even if you "only" show it to friends/strangers

i think im just frustrated because i feel like i could be published more, but those really good poems that represent you perfectly, those are rare moments,, i feel that "lesser" writers get unneeded attention while good writers dont, so its best not to bother and to make art for art's sake

To be honest, the only poetry I read is my own (and people on BL). That said, read widely and always find the older, romantic writing of Crowley and Lovecraft to be inspiring. I actually don't understand poetry very well, so its a selfish exercise for me; I either write music (dark ambient) or write poems.

No, not at all. Heres publishing enough :) Though if anyone had a suggestion as to submitting this poem somewhere, so others could read it, I'd be thrilled. Profit of course isn't a worry; I have made no money of several psytrance releases, so I am content working in a damn petrol station for now :D

Fuck- glad you guys liked this. Basically, it emerged from watching the sunset at work, quick jottings and the flow felt right. Spontaneity works best for me, as well as no editing, either during writing or post-poem.

Cheers!! :)

dont be sniffing the petrol though...i wold resist that temptation for now ;)

...that is... unless it makes the poetry better. all for the Art!!!!

now thats dedication

I'll edit that to

"Spontaneity works best. as well as no editing, either during writing or post-poem."

but you must edit the fuck out of music. but thats AFTER recordings/writing is done. the "real" part is like an orgasm...it just comes... no knowing where from how...the baby's just born, its beautiful but a fucking monster at the same time

that's more or less the approach I take to writing as well, but as far as I can tell, this poem is as good as any I've read. I also think you should publish because you inspired me as I wrote my next poem for class. I think that's a pretty good indication that you understand poetry more than what you think you might have to know about poetry.
just my humble opinion....

^Thank you :) I have no idea how to "publish" but I'll have to look into it....When I said I don't understand poetry, I meant that I don't get it- the words are often just words to me, the meanings can be lost on me- I think poetry is very personal, a glimpse into someones brain so to speeak.

I do edit psytrance music HEAVILY, to the extent that the songs skeleton is usually fleshed out with a lot that doesn't have any bearing towards the original framweork.

Dark/black ambient music; generally, as I'm working with dissonant drones, I try and let it record itself- literally. :)
