Dangers of smoking resin

i dont know but smoking dust always seemed to contaminate your bowl with pcp resin,

i had to get all new pipes after my pcp days.. even my friends bowls were ruined. i still have a really nice bubbler that after 3 attempts is stil dusted :\

I don't think that smoking resin would have much an effect on your cardiovascular system, as it still has the same chemicals(though less) that the buds have. Have you made a major change to diet or anything else that could contribute?

... this sounds most logical, and i am a mmj patient getting it done with resin tonight btw...

but i feel it is worth mentioning, that when you lite and combust anything, the chemicals in the smoke are able to combine and create new chemicals. i dont know if this happens with marijuana specifically or to what extents if so,,, but wouldnt put it past any Big Tobacco scientists/chemists to take advantage of...

i agree with treefa. you ever had one of those joints that is dripping with resin by the time it's finished?
'cept with joints, most of it just goes straight into your lungs, rather than getting stuck to the insides of the pipe/bowl and just sitting there. it either sticks to the paper or the weed - which you smoke anyway. you probably smoke more 'resin' in a reefer.
try smoking a bong an inhaling through a tissue placed on the mouth piece - you'll end up with a mouth-shaped black circle on the paper. kinda freaky, if you smoke a lot of pot. our poor lungs!
and if you're smoking blunts, you're adding a whole other bunch of toxic chemicals into the mix with the tobacco.
pipes have always seemed like one of the cleanest options when it comes to smoking herb. that's my subjective perception anyway.

but seriously - if your smoking is causing you health concerns, the best option is to invest in a vaporiser. so much healthier than combusting cannabis.

Bolded part is incorrect, as additional compounds are evolved as products of pyrolysis -- specifically carcinogenic species called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are the main components of resin.

different types of herb can have different effects on the lungs as well. I had some super cured strain recently (Afghan x cheese) that caused me and everyone who smoked it to cough up a storm, and I felt like I had more 'lung butter' than usual.

I would be interested to read any legitimate sources of information on this, specifically citing results of a chemical analysis.

This. I do not believe it. Weed is rarely laced, and when it is, you know it is. It's been that way everywhere I've been, but I have not spent much time in England, more in India, Brazil, Guatamala, etc etc, and I live in the states. It's the same everywhere, lacing cannabis makes no sense unless you are doing it on purpose and charging more. I am sure people do shit like spray bud to make it wet,, so it weighs more and smells better (common), but I do not consider this lacing, I consider it scamming.

Anyway, we generally do not allow this kind of discussion because this is how it always goes: back and forth, expect usually someone is convinced they smoked laced bud.

Those kind of threads get closed ASAP, so lets not turn it into that.

The amount of resin in your pipe is probably only a small fraction of the resin deposited in your lungs.

I don't think that smoking pot causes lung cancer, but smoking it heavily can definitely cause bronchitis or even emphysema if you go overboard. I'd take a break for a month or two at least, use a vape or eat it instead.

I've been there too so I quit smoking everything and was feeling much better after a couple months.

Marijuana does not cause emphysema.. even if you use heavily.

thats a pretty ignorant state casualty. And when I say laced, I think sprayed counts as well. who knows what that shit is doing to you

I disagree. I have currently been smoking for 4, almost 5 months now straight alternating between bowls and dutches. I can clearly see the difference, without any bias. I truly am way more exhausted.

That's what I would have thought, but is there a such thing as even a simple spray that could help mimic good qualities of weed? Like something that only cost a couple bucks to lace a zip or somethin

Come on over to Advanced Drug Discussion, there is a massive wealth of knowledge by people with chemistry and bio education, not just speculation. Most likely all of your questions will be answered.

as long as you don't do it too ofen, you shouldn't be hurt at all. think of how many times people smoke cigarettes a day

whippa i've heard of people using scented sprays to give mids a better smell. my cuz said he's coated red bud with 7 up to make it look crystally and sticky. i've never knowingly come across anything of the sort personally, but i'd imagine it wouldn't bee too hard to discern from real quality dank. when you break it open the smell should come out and the trichromes should be more in number. if your buying bigger quantities there should be a consistency throughout the whole batch as well. if you really think that your guy is scenting your sack, maybe ask him straight up just to see his reaction. or just go to a different guy. lol.

To OP- I don't think a few weeks of smoking out of a pipe could really be that much more detrimental toward your lungs than say 'smoking blunts alot' would be. I see your point, and it does seem to make sense in that the smoke even taste different through a pipe filled with resin, but think about this: all the resin stuck to the inside of a pipe comes from the smoke, meaning that the pipe is filtering out some of the resin. i've never gotten resin all over my teeth and lips like i have from blunts and joints too, which makes me think they are in all practicality just as bad as one another for your lungs.

http://www.everyonedoesit.com/onlin...avouring_Blueberry_Thrill.cfm?iProductID=4109 something like this would be both financially plausible and practical in the eyes of a dishonest dealer. lacing weed with another drug to give it a stronger effect is something different than spraying scented "tobacco flavoring" to make it more appealing to the consumer. I understand that real laced weed, like sherms, is extremely uncommon and much more akin to an urban legend, but it seems like the second someone brings up the idea of contaminated weed there are 8 people ready with their rant about how it doesn't make financial sense and therefore does not exist. maybe laced weed is virtually non existent, but contaminated weed is real. google grit weed if you don't believe me.

There is a flavoring spray for tobacco and herbs that makes weed taste really fruity, makes the weed smell like it and makes the smoke smell like it.

I was smoking "mango kush" which was just some pretty good with with the drops. It smelled like a straight mango and lasted like it too. I was smoking out my window way back when my parents still cared, and just got finished blowing out my last hit and put my shit away and she comes in, blah blah blah dont smoke weed, me lying to them "someones outside smoking weed".... long story short sometime in there my sister said it smelled kinda like mangos haha

no, not at all. your bud isn't going to be laced if you're just buying from a dealer, it does not financially make any sense.

Hey all, first post here, i just wanted to say....

Yes, this is very common for people to lace weed with stuff that makes it smell better, i get homies (homegrown crap) that smells really good but doesent do the trick...it looks darker aswell, that is because it gets laced with stuff called "Tasty puff" my dealer showed me it and you can buy all diferent flavours and smells....you just put a few drops on the weed and there you have it.

Sorry to go against a mod but i thought it needed to be said lol, sorry.

Edit: AND, it makes the weed weigh more...

I smoke 3-4 grams of regular on a daily basis, usually after working out and winding down the day's responsibilities. I also have asthma, and I've never noticed problems with smoking weed that I used to get back when I smoked cigarettes briefly. Weed is a bronchodilator. I'd switch to smoking blunts if I were you. You can take them wherever you go, usually without arousing suspicion.

I was also taking some other drugs at the time that were related to my fatigue.

I was thinking about this and when you smoke a blunt, atleast some ash is falling off. In a pipe/bowl, you keep hitting and hitting and hitting the same crap until you empty it, tar, carbon, resin, weed and all.
