Hi all,
this question goes to the chemistry geeks (I'd like to be but never became one).
Storage situation:
An RC stash (mostly HCL salts of amphetamine- and cathinone derivates) in an air sealed package (ziplock bags + vacuumed freezer bag) is stored close to a box of Clearwater Chlorine Granules (used for chlorination of swimming pools).
The granules are physically separated from the RCs and the RCs are packaged air sealed as mentioned, but the RC package is still close enough to the chlorine granules to "smell" the chlorine at the place where it is.
Is there any chance of a toxic reaction of the HCLs with the chlorine "smell" (is there chlorine gas already if there is a smell of chlorine?)?.
I somehow remember that chlorine reacts with acids in a toxic way. The HCLs could turn to an acid if there would be water present (maybe air humidity would be enough)?
But the chlorine gas would somehow have to diffuse through the freezer bag and ziplock bag around the RCs, I guess...
But maybe the bags are not 100% air sealed....?
Am I just paranoid or is my stash in danger? It WAS stored there for 4 months now. I already moved it away from the chlorine now after a sleepless night due to worries.
And sorry for my not-present chemistry knowledge...
Stay safe!!
