maybe you can invite some new people along....
thanx so much for the one on one tuition, i'd never had got that shuffle down without you and your drance crew... ;)
BT is head of drance these days.

whoah, this thread kinda got ressurected.

I've still been practicing my liquid heaps, it's getting quite big in Oz, especially Syd. We now have our first Aussie Liquid Crew, called HYDRODYNAMIX, founded by myself and Torm3nt.
here's our very own forum, where most aussie liquiders/poppers reside;

btw, Electric Boogie is not a dance style, hehe..that might have been what some people called it back in the day, But the correct name is Boogalo, or most people use the umbrella term Popping.
Mr Wiggles Hip Hop (for Popping/Boogaloo info)

oh yeah, Mr Wiggles is coming to Oz, with his very own Rock Steady Crew, i urge anyone with an interest in Popping to check this guy out, truly amazing.
And I will also make sure that he gives his proper respects to Drance.

peace,
Rush.

Agree with SupaspeeD & won_ton..... Melbourne Shuffle is the best!!!

Yer there is a vid on inthemix but is quite hard to see, I know at one stage a Bl'er was going to be doing some shots anyone know if that happend??

Where is there 2 b a 03 shuffle off?

I be a dancer but not into competiveness, but group fun.
Unfriendly competivenessness I find to be one of the concernining aspects of "B.Boy/Hip Hop" culture (yet I always respect grand moves from breakdance masters)

the melbourne shuffle is pretty good email me [email protected] and i'll send you 2 video;s on it.. one has the basic's of how to do it.. and the other is an inthemix video about it.. both are quite cool

Awesome thread!!!
I don't have time to check out all the links at the moment, but if anyone here is in Sydney and can give paid pop/lock lessons, I'll love ya for life!

You dont need someone to show you unless you are not in Melbourne. If you are down in Melb just head off to Hard Kandy on friday nights to see some good shufflin'!!!

I'm gonna bring this back to see if any new dancers have joined recently (or if anyone at all has started up with funk styles/bboyin)

and I filmed a new clip!
d/l it here

^^Great stuff there, bit of everything, liquiding tuting poping tracing digitz etc etc. love to beable to get to that stage.

BOut Me:
Middle of last yr sometime i started goin to events and the 1st thing i did when i got settled was to want to know how to go about this whole dancing thing. so at 1st having done a yr or 2 of ballroom dancing i would incorperate a few moves that i had learnt there (slighty modified ofcourse ) but felt to constrained. bout end of march this yr i started to look into the proper clubing/raving dancing side of it all. and after finding most of the sites already listed in this thread (eg. lpc, glowsticking.com etc) (mostly by luck) id like to think i have improved (goin on compliments i suprisingly received)

at first i just wanted to know what the differences where between in all the stylez i had read about, still not 100% on these and would love to learn the basics of most of these.

From the clips etc i had seen and things id read liquiding looked and felt the most natural for me so thats the main style i go for when im dancing (but being the only person i really know that knows even a lil about these styles its hard for me 2 tell if its correct) atm its mostly focused on arm liquid movements with some glowsticking

Id also looked into glowsticking not so much with the glowsticks(although they usually help) but to incorporate actions from here into liquiding. lastly i looked at the melbourne shuffle still not sure if im doin this right either.

atm its mostly focused on arm liquid movements mixed with some glowsticking, a lil stomping, some of what i think is the melb.s, try a lil tuting every now and then and some of the old ballroom actions.
(still a "newbie" to it all)

havnt looked into the perth scene much (if there even is one:( ) but def something id like to =D

All these dances have names? 8o

I think these links are appropriate.
How to dance properly
Advanced seminar

As for me, I learnt most of my moves when I was on acid and playing with glowsticks. Some people should be banned from ever using glowsticks (NOT me). I almost had an eye poked out by someone's rogue glowstick last night!

glowsticks look really cool in the hands of a pro. I wasn't into them untill i saw a few clips that blew my mind. Traces, tosses, spins: all can make glowsticking a nice illusional dance.

The origins of liquid are often debated, with nobody really knowing for sure where the dance originated from. It obviously takes inspiration from a style called waving that poppers in Cali were doing back in the day. They think that when the rave scene emerged, dancers combined waving with the movements of glowsticks. With that you get the hand flow.....the basis for liquid dancing.

toenibbler: sounds good bro. ballroom dancing would be a great place to start, gives you a good foundation for dance already.
I know of a few poppers in Perth, check out this forum:
