hey komplex, i know how u feel about the rm, the 505 is so much better in terms of being able to flow between pattens, like u can get one 'part' or 'track' from any patten on the box and mix it in realtime with the pattern ur playing...and then slowly phase accross to the other pattern....the rm1x is sick for playing sections like individual samples, however it sucks for changing styles....i think they fucked up bigtime with this machine...like its so GOOD but at hte same time can be so CRAP. FUCKING WHATS HAPPENING WITH THAT UPGRADE.......i emailed next music about informing them of yamahas dodginess..lets see what comes up eh??

Leprechaun that mixer has a very short life, eg: You'll grow out of it so fast that you'll wish that you waited a couple of months and bourght a 20 trak desk with lots of Aux sends and a programable efx unit.
It ends up being about $400-500 more expencive but will be better value. The efx in the 1804x are just presets, and nothing special at that.
I got a 2004A around 6 months and I'm already growing out of it. If you only have a couple of synths then I'd recommend the 2004A as long as you don't thrash it around like a rally car (eg: [serotone]... I sometimes can't help myself and just about snap the faders off...).
I guess that 1804x would be good if your stuff has high polyphony/multitimbral because you don't need as many tracks to mix...
Anyway thats my rant for today...

I agree though, i'm wishing i had waited and bought a s/h 01v or 03d...or even oone of the bigger behringers...however behingers are shit quality......so i mite just get a bigger mixer or digital, and keep my 2004a as a sub mixer for a sampler or something (the sampler i wanna get has 8 outs)
 
The Behringer mixers a quite transparent (eg: the noise floor is very low and they mix well). However, the downside to them is that the casing, PCBs and the things that matter less about a mixer are cheap, very cheap!!!
