Damage from SNIFFING heroin over time?

I used to sniff heroin regularly, just recently stopped (now on suboxone), just wondering opinions of how damaging it is to your nasal cavity (plus the rest of your body and organs) over time. I used to use heavily, then weened myself down to a couple bags a day. Can it cause bad sinus problems? Thanks

Snorting heroin can cause sinus issues yes. However, damage to your nose and sinuses usually only occurs after heavy/extended use.

Since heroin is a street drug and street drugs have unknown cuts in them, its impossible to give you an answer with 100% certainty. It is possible that a more damaging cut was used and that could cause more issues than the heroin itself, but there's no way to know if that's the case since there's no way to know what your heroin was cut with.

Glad to hear you're now on Suboxone though :)

yeah it is definitely bad for your nose. Mainly because there is a bunch of other shit that's NOT heroin in your heroin, no matter how good it is. Also there can be bacteria in it because people cut it when they buy it and alot of people who sell H really aren't very clean people, and probably don't even think to wash their hands.
I know someone who got a sinus infection from snorting H. Also a much worse story is I know someone else who wound up with a BLOOD infection (bacterial infection in your bloodstream) because he injected some H that was dirty.

It's like snorting any drug. It matters what it's cut with, how much, how constant. It shouldn't do too much damage depending on how you mean 'regularly'. If your nose has time to heal a bit you wont have much damage, so weekend warriors are pretty safe for the whole hole in the bridge part but yeah, always taste before you snort.

I think anytype of snorting causes damage, ok maybe stuff like Snuff dosent as it is soft, but who knows. I think my right nasal cavity is damaged as it easily start to bleed, escpesially in cold. Used to snort speed with it. So I suggest never to snort, use orally or plugg.

Were you waterlining tar or sniffing more pure shit like #4? I would guess that waterlining is worse since A:Tar is gross and B: water isn't great for your sinuses to begin with. But honestly, if you don't feel like your nose is already messed up, it's not going to get any worse if you've already quit, so you should be fine if you aren't freaking out about nose pain or issues already.

This is your answer. It's not quite as bad as cocaine is, but you can still have damage.

From another perspective, I have an immune deficiency problem that leads to me getting infections quite easily, and I've found snorting substances that are quite harsh on the nose such as methamphetamine, ethylphenidate etc... lead to me getting quite bad sinus infections as they must expose the membranes more to opportunistic pathogens. I've lost most of my sense of smell to infections, partly due to snorting things when I knew I shouldn't have and partly due to infections I just get due to my situation. :\

The human body is amazingly resilient. Some of the shit people do to themselves is absolutely unbelievable, and the fact that they're completely functional and normal amazes me.

The above people gave you the best answers possible. Even if we knew how approximately pure your shit was, we don't know how your body reacted to it. A doctor could probably tell you the answer to these questions.

The good news is I rarely hear of people having serious complications from snorting heroin. The bad news is that's probably because so many of them die from respiratory depression, combinations, or switch to the needle.

Toxical damage done to the sinus is in almost all cases reversible once the cause is gone.
Your body isn't made out of sugar and will heal itself if you let it.
