Deep in the remote rainforests of south-western Cambodia, swathes of endangered trees are being felled by gangs of men wielding axes and chainsaws. Hidden beneath the lush green canopy, vats of boiling water filled with chopped tree trunks and roots bubble up in an unctuous yellow soup. These makeshift factories are manufacturing safrole, from sassafras oil, to supply a growing demand created by young British people 8,000 miles away. This illicit industry, controlled by armed criminal gangs and poor Cambodian villagers eking out a living from the land, is the first important stage in the manufacture of the world’s most famous club drug — Ecstasy.

I think we should just stop posting Daily Mail and The Sun articles really about drugs, they have all been of recent, atrocious.
 
Is this the same incident as in those five other threads that were merged, or did another two people die?
 
It's the same folks but the article is mainly about saffrole farming, which is a different topic. Anyways, your call :)

The Daily Mail can't even sensationalize their own articles correctly!

I changed the thread title to better reflect the content of the article.
 
I watched a documentary on this. My conclusion is that they refuse to admit that these issues are the fault of prohibition. It would be possible to grow these trees over time and at the same time, take the profit from gangs along with releasing an incredibly pure product.

So much nonsense. I am almost certain that whatever it was that killed those two people and put twenty others in the hospital was not MDMA. Many people I know have taken very pure MDMA in amounts over a gram without any adverse health effects.

As for the tree issue... come on, that's all because of prohibition. MDP2P can be made from other sources than sassafras, such as piperonal.

Its far easiest to start with safrole or isosafrole though sjb id bet most labs are running with safrole and then ggoing to isosafrole then mdp2p or just going safrole----->mdp2p
 
I've read into this a lot and there is no way of knowing whether the safrole is going to MDMA labs or legitimate commerce such as insecticide and perfume manufacture.
 
The love drug isn't kiolling anyone it's all those other chemicals that people fill those so called ecstasy tablets with

ya but they dont want to specify that. so its bad to chop down the rain forest for a fun drug but its fine to chop it down to make paper to wipe my ass when they could just grow hemp to replace the trees? what a fucked up world

Ya ecstasy is definitely what we need to be putting all our effort into fighting, its definitely the largest killer out there. 8)

And out of those deaths, all were from the direct use of MDMA, not adulterants, no supidity, not other health factors of the subject, but MDMA itself.

This monster must be stopped.
 
Ya I'm pretty sure tylenol has killed way more people than that. It should be illegal!!
 
^ I'm pretty sure tylenol kills more people than that in the space of couple months. Not a bad record when the 200 E deaths are spread out over 15 fucking YEARS
 
What I find is amusing is how the trees cut down in order to set up labs to manufacture sassafras oil are killing the rainforest - but no mention of all those loggers now is there? 8)
