Number of ketamine users doubles in four years as young people make horse tranquiliser drug of choice

Horse tranquiliser ketamine is the party drug of choice for this generation, a report has revealed. The number of users has doubled in just four years as 'Special K' becomes increasingly popular with young people - particularly in the South West. Ketamine was the biggest riser in the UK drugs market last year, according to DrugScope's annual survey. A growing number of heavy users have become addicts, developed mental health problems and suffered physical injuries while under its influence.

Although relatively harmless in small doses, ketamine can cause psychological dependency and leave users helpless and vulnerable. It can be even more dangerous when mixed with alcohol or other drugs.

The mother of a teenager who fell to his death while high on meow meow at a house party condemned the 'evil predators' who supply the drug. Aidan McSweeney, 18, plunged from scaffolding in Northampton in July after taking the designer drug mephedrone. His mother Lynne Bucinikas, 54, told how 19-year-old dealer Alexander Barron lured impressionable young people to his home and got them hooked on drugs.

Why the fuck does the media always refer to ketamine as a horse tranquilizers to make it look worse than it really is. What about the fact that it is also used for cats, dogs, and people both young and old. Just call it a fucking tranquilizer or anesthetic. I remember on that Doctors show they were talking about about ketamine and showed a video
of a horse getting tranquilized with ketamine to make it seem like kids are getting high off a drug that can knock out a full grown horse. They didn't mention the massive dose difference between what recreational user would take and what a vet would use to knock out a horse.

Theres no KET ANYWHERE no more, im pretty sure this drought has done everyone some good, everyones tolerance is going to have dropped so much.

@phen I know its a right joke, they give you ketamine in UK hospitals if you are allergic to other anaesthetics but they never seem to mention that right its always, HORSE TRANQUILLISER.

And I swear to god if i see the word "designer drug" and "meow meow" in the same setence im going to kick a kitten in the mouth, no one ever uses those words, and why is a random research chemical a designer drug?

I know a shitload of K-heads in my circle of acquaintances, way more k-heads I know of than lets say coke heads, dope heads or whatever(other than potheads which out number all other "heads")..........

ketamine used to be my drug of choice for years, then it became extremely expensive and then completely scarce. I was hooked on it though, especially because there was no comedown but there were cravings that took a long time to go away. It would also cure a comedown from methamphetamine because of it's disassociative (sp) properties. But it is also true it's a drug that can be used for anesthesia on most mammals, humans included. The dentist put that along with a few other things in my IV when he took my wisdom teeth out.

why is a random research chemical a designer drug?
A designer drug is one that is deliberately created in order to circumvent existing controlled substance laws. It is entirely appropriate to refer to most RCs as such.

Where does the majority of UK ket come from? Is it diverted pharma vials or is it powder from china?

About 90% of it used to come from India, a few big pharm companys got busted and they started cracking down bad on it, now theres a huge drought in the UK. This was a few months ago, it comes in both vials and powder, not hard to make powder from vials.
