A 20-year-old man has been arrested and an elderly woman lucky to be alive after he allegedly hit her over the head with a shovel while high on bath salts. Robert William White of Glendale, California was apprehended by police after hitting the 77-year-old woman with the shovel after she saw him swinging it at birds. 'I hate you and I want to kill you today,' he told the woman when she asked him to stop, according to a neighbour speaking to the Glendale News.

natural product these day are really potent!!! Its the never ending apocalyptic ''BATH SALT'' terrorism tale's. Clearly MDPV(based on sketchy''toxicology'' report i guest) should not be sold without knowledge of the risk and the details of the product itself. Does anyone know ppl who are using that shit for several month without hitting rock-bottom psychosis!?! Are they aware of the extreme potency of the product when they buy it?

I would trust a sachet of bath salts, over a preachy do gooder casting his/her judgement over the rest of society anyday of the god dam week.

I'm just glad it's bath salts. Bath salts should be Schedule I, starting now. Where are all the law makers? Where is the DEA while all this is going on? Still chasing down the marijuana trail, like complete and utter idiots.

Come on, Drug Czar. Come on, law enforcement. Come on, DEA agents. Get your riot gear on and go after bath salts. You fucks just put a bunch of synthetic cannabinoids on Schedule I. What you need to do is take Cannabis off the Schedule or take it down to Schedule V. I mean, why not? Now that bath salts are all over the place causing all sorts of damage, you can get off your Cannabis trip. If someone bites my face off while they are high on bath salts, I'm definitely going to sue the DEA for not putting bath salts on Schedule I.

Totally agree with you Ugly, its a travesty that bath salts remain legal, while mushrooms and cannabis remains illegal (sorry, I know those who use them don't want them made illegal). Especially in stark contrast of damage, each substance can do. I'm not one to judge those who use them, I have no right to say yey or ney. Everyones entitled to stick whatever they like in there bodies. It just all seems backwards.

Ever seen reefer madness? Cannabis was the "violent psychotic 'bath salt' of its time... times change thats why i think jumping to any conclusion would be incorrect... lets look deeper... tox screens.. hair samples see whats real and whats just the buzzword epidemic theyre suddenly blaming on some obscure chemical or mix of chemicals that has yet to be identified in most big news stories...

And it always seems like when they make some new drug illegal it creates a swarm of analogues supposedly "different enough" and "not for human consumption" thats kinda similar but shittier and not "magical" like the original... then these are banned and the cycle repeats endlessly it seems...

This is one of my huge issues with drug criminalization... the legal avalable stuff becomes more popular than illegal stuff despite causing mass problems, these seem to only fuel the desire to aquire some for many...

Well, Hear Me Roar, I did a little research and found that the active ingredients, including but probably not limited to, Mephedrone, 3,4
methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) and Methylone, were put on an emergency Schedule I list last October, making bath salts illegal in the U.S.A.

There are some pictures of them on the DEA website, which was nice since I've never seen them before. The DEA calls them "designer drugs" which I did not know, and lists a dozen or street names that bath salts are known by. I don't know anyone who uses bath salts, and I thought they were actually bath salts, like epsom salt or any number of bath water additives in which to soak.

I still don't see the DEA patting itself on the back for having captured any culprits the way they do when they arrest anyone for marijuana. (I get very upset when I think about the scheduling of marijuana. Aspirin is more lethal than cannabis, yet cannabis is schedule I, like heroin! Anyone with any sense at all should see that is ridiculous.

Yeah I don't think we should be scapegoating certain drugs just because of the propaganda we have seen. I expected better from bluelight.

'bath salts' should not be illegalized (but will be) they should be tightly controlled like alcohol. After that it is up to the person who takes it. But, I think if all drugs were legalized we would have no use for all of these cathinones and fake cannabinoids.

I think most every lawyer in north america has the 'bath salts' card up their sleeve for when some nutty violent person does something out of the ordinary. 'your honor, he was on those terrible bath salts, he was drawn in by the legality and fancy packaging, this is our victim'

When you see the new laws that will come of this, you will not like them. Not only will they make "bath salts" illegal: they will make virtually any psychoactive substance illegal. Exceptions: coffee, alcohol, cigarettes and pharmaceuticals. Minnesota has already taken the first step towards this. I'm sure other states have as well.

@toad
Yes, I've seen Reefer Madness. To think that people watched that piece of trash and believed it... it's incomprehensible really.

Marijuana is only illegal so that white law enforcement can hassle nonwhite people. I thought Obama would know this. He is well educated. I thought during his term or terms in office, Obama would at least put forth the suggestion that we decriminalize marijuana to free up resources for the important work the DEA could be doing, especially since every county and state is broke.

(I remember feeling wonderfully joyous during the inauguration. I had a great deal of confidence that he would bring some sanity into the presidency. I don't know how I feel about Obama anymore.)

Psychoactive substances are always illegal, aren't they? What has Minnesota done, make stuff like Chamomile tea illegal?

^they passed laws making entire chemical families illegal.

Psychoactive substances are not illegal per se. Many should not be banned, even by ultraconservative Mormon teetotalers.

Actually, none should be banned, but I'm trying to be objective.

i dont believe "bath salts" causes psycosis, but like with most stimulants it tends to aggravate pre-existing conditions. i mean some of these people believe their talking to god before they take these drugs.
once their on that stuff the voices get alot more convincing. screw banning drugs what we realy need to do is ban religion

Crazy times man

I donnu which one is crazier, that fact that MDPV can turn people into utter twats, or that people here seem to love reading the Daily Mail.

Fer fook sake like

I think it's funny that the Daily Mail is saying that MDPV is not addictive. That's a ridiculous claim, the drug is known for it's addiction potential and that is why it was initially removed from the American prescription drug market.
