A drink and drugs counsellor who caused a six car smash after downing wine and sherry has been branded a ‘danger to the public.’ Lyn Knapton, 53, was so drunk she could not stand up when police got to the scene of a rush hour smash last Christmas. She had been drinking heavily the night before and was on her way home from work after drinking wine and sherry with clients.

In mitigation Jane Novas-Morelle, defending, Knapton, said: ‘She is in no way hiding the fact that she is a recovering alcoholic who unfortunately just before Christmas relapsed back into heavy drinking having been completely dry for a ten year period.

I Like how they feel the need to mention she was an alcoholic. What is that supposed to make us feel bad for her?

Drunk driving is just fucking retarded, same as any drug that affects your motor skills so heavily, no sympathy at all. Lucky nobody died.
