Daily experimentation with psilocybin

Even though I think this is a pretty bad idea, let's not forget that AMT was used as an anti-depressant and that if dosages are reduced to sub-threshold if we forget about tolerance for a moment it seems a bit less insane.

The point of "treating these psychedelics with respect" is to me not so much an issue of desecration but the flaws of such misuse.
IMO those would mostly have to do with the fact that daily use does not actually imply the integration you suggest, for integration there should be a healthy waiting period so that there is a reality check and there is ample time for useful aspects of the experience to be fixed in your conditioning.
So in this time between trips you get the chance to realize that some ideas may be too irrational to have a place in your life.

I think I made the mistake in the past that as much wiping of my condition as possible would be good. I thought that I could brainwash myself into a new person with fresh chances and fresh ideas and decisions but this is a delusion. As long as you keep wiping yourself, there is no possibility for an identity to integrate in a stable way.

Instead I think people with aims like this are so much better off just tripping perhaps once every month and using practices like meditation to sustain the process between trips. Not only is it much too hurried to try and force this process at max speed, it tends to complicate and destabilize everything and you are extremely likely to move away from integration rather than what you are trying to achieve.

Also as a side-note.. you may want to look into Dabrowski's theory of positive desintegration which I recommend for everyone who is interested in personal development and transformation.

True, but bear in mind a shaman in the amazon might be taking ayahuasca 40 days in a row because he's got a terrible case of intestinal worms and ayahuasca is the best thing for making him vomit and shit.

He might not be having some wonderful enlightening trip, he might just be squatting over the river screaming blue murder with a foot long worm hanging out of his anus.

Sure there's some alright...

True but I suppose it's how much you believe the shamans - perhaps it's in their interests to say "I was out there tripping for 40 days" - perhaps how they get more respect and chimp meat from the tribe or more western clients when they're running their "Trip with a native for just $1000" program.

The only chimps in the amazon are western eco tourists.
