Hi, I take about 2600mg of apap or acetaminophen daily ive been taking this amount for about 2 months. Could this be hurting my liver at all? I know the recommended dose for a day is 4000mg but is it safe to take the amount im taking everyday? the apap is coming from the 10/325 percocets im prescribed but take more than im suppose to. I do plan on cutting back tapering myself down so I don't have to take that much anymore but let me know if you guys think it has harmed me so far.

If you're a young healthy 18-25 year old then there's very little chance of ~2g a day doing damage when used in the short term.

I am just overly paranoid, im kind of a hypochondriac. I knew someone was going to mention that, though I don't know how people can see my posts when I cant even find them in one single place. I cant really get a straight forward answer and maybe that's cause people don't really know. I just want some reassurance that what im taking wont kill me. and yes I probably should just get my liver checked. thank you.

I have a similar concern as I have been on a steady Norco binge for the past month, taking between 2,800 and 4,000 mg APAP daily. Once I hit 4g/day I switched to CWE even though I'm taking a small (maybe insignificant) hit on the hydrocodone through quick extraction.

I am a worrisome individual and I instantly consider the worst case scenario when it comes to this stuff (which isn't a bad thing, I guess, in the spirit of harm reduction), but as I am asymptomatic right now, I think that the 4g prn daily limit seems to be pretty safe. I wouldn't be too concerned with doses under 3g/d. APAP OD at the acute level is something that requires immediate action, but at doses under 3g/d I would simply place a call to your GP and ask for a liver enzyme screen if you want to be 100% sure. If you've been staying at this level for more than a week, however, I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

That being said, if you develop symptoms that do not mimic opioid dose (yellowing of the skin/eyes, vomiting that doesn't relieve the nausea, pain in URQ (below the right ribcage that doesn't go away)), go get checked out. A few hours of your time is worth it and the doctors shouldn't shun you or treat you like a jerk if you tell them that you've been taking 3g/d APAP for pain, that's well below what the PDR considers acute or long-term OD.

Cheers

spread out within 24 hours. I am 23, 260lbs. not sure about my health but yeah thanks for the asnwers.

Id be more concerened with taking oxy everyday than the apap..u wont die from that amount but its not good for you.u will know if something is wrong u wont just fall over but i wouldnt worry till about double your current dosage.ive been where u are worrying about liver problems and not being able to enjoy the high.ive taken triple what u bave taken in 24 br period and im still breathing so i wouldnt stress over it just be reasonable and u will be okay.

safe, what is safe.
because its below the recommended maximum doses doesnt make it safe i think.

flushing apap by the grams daily, first the stomach, then the intestines, then the kidney/liver.
i have codeïne pills without apap which i am paranoid to take because of the inactive filler stuff inside it.

i think its safe to drink filtered tapwater and eat pesticide free vegetables/fruits.
seriously the less drugz we take the better i think.
