d-Norpseudoephedrine HCL

I was given some "anorectic" pills called Nobese yesterday. The active ingredient is d-Norpseudoephedrine HCL 45mg. I tried one last night and felt a bit speedy, but not like ephedrine. Much less jittery. Tomorrow I will try two and report.
I did a little research today and found that d-Norpseudoephedrine HCL is also known as Cathine which is one of the psychoactive ingredients in Khat. It also has something to do with that old diet combo phen/fen. One of the side affects is said to be giddiness. I didn't get that from one, but maybe from two?
Just out of curiosity I opened one of the capsules (dark green and clear) and there are tiny white and off white balls inside.
Has anyone else heard of this or tried it? I tried a search in BL but didn't turn up any matches. I wish you could search all forums at once.

Norpseudoephedrine is a neurotransmitter... as are serotonin and dopamine.
I couldnt find anything for 'Nobese' at www.rxlist.com or in the Physician's Desk Reference.

norpseudoephedrine is a neurotransmitter? i think you're confusing it with norepenephrine (also known as noradrenaline)

Norpseudoephedrine is NOT a neurotransmitter. It is most commonly known as 'phenylpropanolamine' (PPA) and it was used in cold medicines and diet pills in the US until it was found that it was causing some health problems, and then was pulled off the market in 2000. Now you can't buy PPA in the US anymore.
It's equivalent to ephedrine for losing weight, and is similar to pseudoephedrine (the active ingredient in sudafed) as a cold medicine.
PPA is NOT recreational, if that's what you are wondering. The best thing it can be used for is to make the drug 4-methylaminorex (PPA is the direct precursor).

Which is why I believe it was taken off the shelves. The FDA/DEA is working to take more meds off the shelves based on anecdotal theories about health problems, when people die everyday from Aspirin and Tylenol overdoses. My prediction of the next to go: ephedra products.

PPA is also a direct precursor to dexedrine via redP/HI redox, like you would make meth from pseudo.
