i want to make an effective cycle of hypnotics to avoid dependence, as i was dependent on benzos for a really long time. what i have to use is temazepam, hydrocodone(opiates work well as sleep aids for me), doxylamine, and pregabalin.

i was thinking about using temazepam -> hydrocodone -> pregabalin -> doxylamine using each for 3-4 nights then switching to the next.

would this be an effective cycle? should i space them out more or less?

it may just be me but I tend to find the morning after effects to be worsened when i switch hypnotics.
I normally take klonopin and temazepam at night, I occasionally take some nights off or switch to doxylamine, benadryl, trazadone, or mirtazipine and I find that the next morning I just feel a lot worse even if I was still able to get some sleep.

I'd suggest using the doxylamine more frequently than any of the others simply because its less harmful from a dependence point of view.

I don't find pregabalin to be effective for sleep, but it's all subjective to the person I guess.
What I would do is replace the prebalain with trazodone or seroquel the next time you see your doctor (assuming you do have a doctor), as these work extremely well as non-dependent, non-habit forming drugs.

You may not become physically dependent on a single drug but that effectively means fuck all if you're dependent on needing something to sleep period (which it sounds like you already are) so your best bet is to pick the one that is the safest and most effective to be used regularly and do this through a physician; stop medicating yourself if you think you have legitimate medical necessity.

^ Agree with Cane. Temazepam and hydrocodone will only lead to physical and psychological dependence. I'm not sure how good of an hypnotic pregabalin would make, but doxylamine or maybe diphenhydramine would probably be best for long term.

unfortunately sedative antihistamines build rapid tolerance to their sedative effects after about 3 nights of regular use, and they don't build tolerance to the anticholinergic effects so eventually i'll reach a ceiling.
