I came across a drug called Paramol a over the counter paracetamol + dihydrocodeine tabs they are expensive so I got myself a couple of packs to do a CWE with both came out milky as fuck. There was no way I was going to drink it. My doc gives me 500/30 apap+codeine and I CWE them and they come out clear as water I thought I was a CWE master obviously I am not.

Does anyone CWE paramol where am I going wrong I would appreciate some advice on this where am I going wrong any help would be greatly helpful as I suffer with chronic back pain thanks in advance

Could it just be a milky coloring from the pills in the water?
Or are you sure the acetaminophen/APAP made it through into it?
It shouldn't really be much (if any) different than with codeine. A CWE is a CWE.
Was the water used cold enough?
Maybe try to filter the solution you have now one more time to see if that helps.

Sorry, that's all i can think of.

Thanks for the quick reply. The way I do my codeine CWE is use 300 codeine is mix the pills with warm water just hot enough to not burn your finger in use 300mg of water and swirl the mixture in a jam jar till the tabs are dissolved

I then put the mixture in the freezer for 20 mins the APAP settles to the bottom. I then put a thin t-towel over the top and strain through some old denim jeans over a clear bowl.wait 20 mins till the mixture has gone through the jeans and the collection at the bottom of the bowl is as clear as water. It tastes disgusting and gets me well high and eases my back pain but I only get 100 tabs a month so theres my dilemma. I know you can buy codeine over the counter but you only get 8mg in the tabs and dont want to mess with loads of apap but the DHC was too tempting not to try. I think I will order some lab filters but they go over a syringe and dont know if they will work and if they dont they cost alot of money

If you're talking about micron filters for a luer lock syringe, it will clog before you're done filtering just one pill.
Or are you talking a different type of filter?

Use coffee filters, I don't think cloth from jeans or a t-shirt is anywhere near fine enough (except for a 1st filter).
Coffee filters are cheap...should be easy to find.

Agreed with hood - micron filters (probably) wouldn't work. Paper coffee filters - here in Australia they sell em in supermarkets for a couple of bucks for 50 or something.
To use coffee filters - you wet them before putting one in a glass or cup (or simar container). Pour your sloppy dissolved pill gunk into the moist coffee filter and it will slowly drip into the glass below. May take a bit longer, but is much finer - and presumably safer than using fabric to strain through. Undissolved particles of paracetamol could concievably be getting through without being completely obvious to the eye (it is assumed that the white stuff is paracetamol - but it could be chalk and other ingredients; it is hard to know for sure.

Also, regarding your DHC extractions that aren't coming out 'clear' - remember that "CWE" = cold water extraction.

The point of the cold water is that the paracetamol is far less soluable in cold water than in warm or hot water.
If you are using warm/hot water to dissolve the pills, you may be dissolving more than just the codeine/DHC into the solution.

In theory, I guess cooling the warm water with the pills dissolved in it will precipitate out the paracetamol - but I don't know how effective (or true) this actually is.
A safer method is to not use hot or warm water to start with - but to use cold/chilled or even cold tap water to start with. This will dissolve less paracetamol into solution to begin with, and you're not relying on it condensing back into a solid when you cool it back down.
It might take longer to dissolve the pills in cold water - if this is a problem, crush or grind them first.

While solubility of codeine/dihydrocodeine and paracetamol/NSAIDs in varying water temperatures is known, I'm not sure if any scientific data exists on the safety and efficiency of different cold water filtration techniques exists (such as using warm water, then chilling it).
Personally, I would use cool/cold water to start with, just to be avoid dissolving unwanted pill contents to begin with.
And a good filter (lab is best, but coffee filters are considered to be adequate - and far safer than clothing fabric.

It's not worth risking liver damage from ODing on paracetamol. Get some coffee filters:

spacevjunk I have been doing CWEs for ages now and have used coffee filters and they always come through slightly milky. I use thick good quality denim as a filter and my liquid comes through as clear as water every time. I have ordered some lab filters for the DHC lets hope I get some good results from them I took your advice and crushed the pills and added cold water a swirled the liquid I always leave until morning to drink my codeine as I got my script tonight. Am looking forward to a pain free day tomorrow cheers
