hey thought ide jsut make this thread for people who are finding it hard
to find jobs and just basically cope through this ordeal. itll be nice to have
a moan about it :D.
im finding it very hard to find a job in my home town of Scarborough UK,
it's just a dead town now. ive spoken to people who have moved up here
from London and thought it would be better up at this area of England
and they have been out of work for about 2 years since they came up.

i live on my own and have been looking for jobs for over a year to continue
my career in catering. ive obviously applied for a few up till now but they
never get back to me. i cant how ever move back home as my mum is THE
most auquad mother alive she says i cant move back home if i dont have a job,
i do have a job but its only 10 hours a week and i only have jsut about enuf
to pay for rent. this isnt enuf to go back home though, i feel if i do go home
then i will have money to save up and possibly move away from Scarborough
to a city. ive told her this and she still says no which really infuriates me as it's
a good excuse for me to properly fly from the roost which is something im more
than ready for.
so being in this dead cycle totally crushes me to the point where i can feel lost but the only way i stop it from taking over me is to listen to ugly duckling and just carry on looking for jobs. :)

The job market is pretty slow here too.

I'm at the point in my life where if I do take full-time work, it needs to be something serious. No more Mickey Mouse startup companies. I've learned my lesson. The problem is, the only publicly posted jobs are from the smaller companies.. and even they are screening qualified candidates like crazy. The big companies seem to sneak people in through the back door, or hire through agencies.

It's an employer's market right now. I'm stuck feeling like I've paid my dues in the trenches, and the job climate just isn't ready to let me out yet. I'm not sure where you live, but if you're in one of the many Countries that subsidize post-secondary education, my advice is to continue going to school until something real comes along. Keep upgrading your education, and atleast if you die broke, you can say you were qualified.

yer i know what u meen. i started this job with a bar that was opening. when it opened i was a trainee chef and and only lasted 1 month before he layed me off and i quit my othr job after 4 years. something i should think about next time.
ppl are telling me to go and work in shops and work on the till. i know i shouldnt be fussy at this day in age but fuck me man. tills im a chef lol im used to grafting my ass off most nights not pic up an object scan it and bob ya uncle. too mind numbing, ill end up like a robot after the first week.
