open sea
ocean free, take me
waves of thoughts
within my soul
a beat i cannot ignore
tap, tap, tap
my foot insists
and my body twists
to fight the factual abyss
no comfort here.
wonder if i could find
a way to retreat into my mind
so the surrounding voices will be but a blur
like an engine passing
behind her. inside her
me is her
fall inside
crawl inside
wonder what i'll find inside

i was sitting in class one day, last class of my day, and i was just so sick of having knowledge thrown at me. sick of being a sausage casing. i wanted to crawl inside of myself, contemplate my world, my ideas. see what i could find and how far away i could get while not moving my body a single inch.

Well, at the beginning I thought you might have been trapped somewhere you didn’t want to be
“open sea
ocean free, take me”
then I thought it was about dancing/raving
“within my soul
a beat I can’t ignore
tap tap tap
my foot insists
and my body twists”
and then I thought you were trapped again, but you were finding something within yourself to make it better
“no comfort here
wonder if I could find
a way to retreat into my mind
so the surrounding voices will be but a blur
like an engine passing”
maybe you were in a relationship where your partner wasn’t being faithful and you found out, or you were jealous of someone
“behind her. Inside her
me is her”
and then you were back where you started, lost again.. but this time the confusion was inside
“fall inside
crawl inside
wonder what I’ll find inside”
so, I guess I was just lost=) thanks for clearing that up. it all makes sense now. it’s amazing how everyday situations like school can inspire us to create beautiful poetry. thanks for clearing that up.
