I am curious about the toxicity of different ingredients in couch syrups in higher doses, let's say these were the ingredients for a particular brand of cough syrup.
Per 5ml
Terpin hydrate 32.5mg
Codeine phosphate 16mg
Menthol 10mg
Sucrose 1g per 5ml
Alcohol (ethanol) 30%vol
Unspecified amounts per ml
Cineole
Glycerole (E422)
Pumilio pine oil
Purified water
Let's also imagine a hyperthetical person, this person is not allergic to any of said ingredients and has no negative medical conditions and consumed 50ml of this clear syrupy liquid, could this be fatal? I am aware that codeine and ethanol when mixed is a dangerous combination and the terpin hydrate could add to the potential repertory depression but I do not know enough in depth about this particular 'mixture'. I have used the search engine and have had very little results. Sorry for rambling just wanted to cover all grounds of the subject. Thanks.

The alcohol, glycerine, terpin hydrate, menthol, camphor, and pine oil are probably gonna make you sick if you drink too much of it. That's almost as bad as Buckley's, jeez.

They will also muck up any extraction attempts too. So you're really better off using it as directed. To get a buzz you'd need to suck down so much menthol and camphor it'd be like you gave Frosty the Snowman a slobbery blowjob. You'd taste like a cough candy for about a day.

On paper you can try to drink more, but don't be surprised if it all comes back up.....
