I think I've found it, but I am not sure if it will ultimately kill me.

I start off with 5mg clonazapam with a beer and a drink with a double of vodka. Then each day I have the cold I increase the alcohol (5-6 shots vodka) and half the clonazapam (2.5mg). This time just to see how it would work, I added 30mg cyclobenzaprine to the mix.

My question is three fold:
1) Is this dangerous (the cyclobenzaprine in particular. I've done the others enough to know)
2) Should I increase the clonazapam on day 2 from 2.5 mg? I had reduced it due to fairly long plasma half life.
3) Is this just entirely a bad idea? Or do others have better?

PS: I am out of Oxy and won't get more until Sunday. Obviously Oxy is the true cure for everything, but I have to make due. And no, I am not in WD. Just have a cold.

PPS: What about some benadryl to the mix?

1. Yes
2. Nope
3. Yes.

The common cold is cased by rhinovirus infection. Neither alcohol nor clonazepam will "cure" it but they might mask the symptoms. Alcohol and clonazepam potentiate each other (and CBP does too) and are dependence forming, so continual use (rather than i.e. one dose per month) is not wise.

I too used clonazepam for a multitude of reasons. But I can honestly say, curing the cold was not one of them. Vodka, yes. But not with cyclobenzaprine, I believe it is a dangerous mix. I'm sure you're a seasoned vet, but no increase in the clonnies. How about just your regular dose of clonnie, with a couple of shots of vodka and some good old fashioned vicks? ahh. No benadryl, it can make you loopy with the other stuff. -Good luck til Sunday!

The point being, you sleep through the cold. If you don't realize, actualize the experience, then it might as well have never happened.

My only complaint is that I don't have 100mg of oxy to throw into the mix. Of course if I did, I probably wouldn't need the rest.

Seriously though, if you know your tolerances, drugs can me an amazing solution to everything from the common cold to clinical depression. I tried to argue the fact with the doctor the other day. His counter to my "we're just a bio-mechanical machines. You can alter things as you see fit with the drugs available" he got on with "we are not bio-mechanical, we are biological machines, and we self adjust and correct as needed". If that's the case, explain every disease and deficiency that afflicts mankind today.

It's all about the drugs. Just know your limits.

Thanks Whole. I already added 1.5mg clono with a beer, but I think I shall leave it there. I am sure I will sleep the next 10 hours away, in peace.

See, if it were up to me, they'd simply keep script'ing barbiturates. Sure, some people OD, but for those who don't, you have quite the miracle drug there. Now we are reduced the mixing alcohol (which I hate) to our benzos to get the same effect.

Yep, always a good idea to keep scripring a drug that has a proven track record for killing people...

Mixing alcohol and benzos goes wrong far, far too many times. Promoting them as a "cure" for a viral infection is just silly, although I must say I enjoy a hot toddy when I'm ill.. it's not going to help your recovery at all though. Just makes you forget how crap you are feeling ;)

Going to close this, if anyone has any questions feel free to shoot me a pm..

Ahh but you failed and left me with a chance to comment "cure" means "Act of healing or state of being healed; restoration to health from disease"

All your taking about is getting so off it you either asleep or just to mangled to notice the symptoms, not the same thing at all, and the last thing your body need when fighting off a cold is whole load of power full meds thrown at it, get a box of tissues and tuff up;)
