Title pretty much sums it up. Anybody have any suggestions to fix blurry vision while on opiates?

I figured that "don't do as much" would be the response I would get, however it doesn't take much. If I did little enough to not have my vision get blurry, I wouldn't really get high and it would kinda defeat the purpose of doing any in the first place.

I have excellent vision in general(20-10 when I was tested when I was younger, I assume its pretty much the same since I haven't noticed it get worse over the years). However I was thinking about trying some of those cheap non-prescription eyeglasses they have at the supermarket and pharmacies. Has anyone ever tried that?

I never got this from opiates. What exactly do you mean by blurry? You can't read? Everything is blurry?

I'm not sure if the glasses would help...

Yeah, its pretty much reading. And for me, it's a big annoyance since I do a shitload of reading and on the computer. Closing one eye solves the problem but is also kinda annoying.

I was kinda hoping for something other than wise-ass answers. Apparently that's hopeless.

I honestly wasn't trying to be a wise-ass. Personally I think that blurry-vision is wonderful; it's part and parcel of the whole opiate deal. For that reason taking other drugs - even if they helped with the blurry vision - would also detract from the opiate high.

I found that I could never read if I was above a certain level of high. So I just didn't bother in those cases.

There is no cure for blurry vision so thats why your getting "wise" answers. For me it just means im really high.

But your saying you get it even when only taking a little? That sucks. Just dont read or have to focus on anything when you take opiates. Thats the only cure.

1 uppers
2 walk around with 1 eye closed haha seriously though I catch myself doing this a lot to see

Thanks for taking my question seriously. I just didn't get that impression at first, its like "Doctor, it hurts when I do this", "Well, don't do that"

It does suck though where it happens with such a small amount. Especially since I like to get a little buzz, then read and/or do stuff on the computer. What I end up doing it closing one eye. Then when I get tired of closing said eye, switch and close the other one for a little while and so on and so on.

Yup, as I just mentioned, #2 is what I end up doing. Maybe I should just get/make an eye patch. You're right about #1 though too, a friend was over recently and gave me a little bump of coke and that seemed to do the trick. I prefer not doing another drug to solve it, but you are correct in your suggestion.

It's the relaxation of the eye muscles; your eyes should adjust to it with time. Do eye exercises, read a letter chart like from the eye doctor when on opiates, practice your way through it by reading regardless of the trouble you're having. It shouldn't be a permanent problem.

try some visine redness relief. i noticed the other day when i used some to get rid of my bloodshot eyes that it also removed some of the blurry opiate vision i was experiencing.

I know this is an old thread but I have the exact same problem as OP and I was wondering if anyone has tried this Visene trick and whether it's effective or not.

Also, wondering if anyone else has any other tricks to prevent having to close 1 eye all the time to read/watch tv when on substantial doses of opiates.

I like blurry vision I look prettier and my hubby is hotter!! Lol!! J/k

I don't think visine would work, but I have never tried it. I have glasses that I never wear and I just put them on and my vision is sharper. But I don't have bad blurry vision.
