Sup people. I've rolled a few times before but last night was the first time I actually bought the rolls myself. I got two but one was three solid crystals while the other one was more powder-like. Didn't really think about it til I was already coming up, but I thought to myself if both work the same. They both felt like pure MDMA but still I can't stop wondering if there is any difference or any advantage to one over the other. Anyone have an idea?

MDMA is MDMA no matter what form it is in. powder has a greater surface area than crystals so one could argue that it would desovle in the stomach faster thus a faster come up but that is debatible.

If I'm buying from someone who I don't trust, I won't buy it if there aren't shards. Not because there can't be powder MDMA, but because I wouldn't buy powder MDMA from anyone who I didn't trust and could test it right in front of me. I've had great powder and shitty powder, but never shitty MDMA crystal shards.

Isn't MDMA a stereogenic molecule thus allowing it to exist in several conformations; each having their own relative affinities for various receptors?
Whether it's in crystals or has been crushed into a powder won't affect that though. That's a whole different kettle of fish.

Nah, MDMA only has one stereocenter and the stuff you and I take is almost certainly racemic.

Uh... no.
There CAN be different kinds of MDMA, but racemic MDMA.HCL is really the ONLY one you'll find.... ever. The only real differences are due to set, setting, or adulterants.

So if I was trying mdma for the first time, would I want to use powder or crystals? I've rolled before, with pills quite a bit but haven't in a long time.

It does not matter what form it comes in be it pill, powder, crystal, it is important that it is actually mdma and not some cheap imitation.

to each their own....i wouldn't trade MDMA for MDA ever. I just did some moonrocks for the first time in a long time this past week and they can't touch MDMA in my opinion. I like a less heady more euphoric roll though I guess versus a trippy roll

Yea, maybe a combo would be nice. What do you call moonrocks? I was always under the impression that sass and moonrocks were MDA? MDMA is molly. I guess it doesn't really matter...just curious as to what you were referring to when you said moonrocks...
