Cokeboy, 10 samples out of 233 contained a local anesthetic. In Brazil.
What does that have to do with what is normally done here in the US? Are you from Brazil?
From "The Good Drugs Guide":
"What is cocaine usually cut with?
Cocaine is most often cut with corn starch, vitamin c powder, sugar, talcum powder, Italian baby milk powder or local anesthetic (to simulate the numbing feeling)."
From the Narconon Southern California Rehab Addiction Treatment Centre:
"The side effects of adulterants increase cocaine's risks. The drug is often cut with one or more of any number of other substances, such as the cheaper drugs procaine, lidocaine, and benzocaine, and substances that pose no serious risks, such as sugars (mannitol and sucrose), or starches."
From the US Governments "Cocaine and Federal Sentencing Policy Report":
"In addition, crack cocaine may be "cut" further or diluted, as is powder cocaine, to increase distributor profits. Although cutting crack cocaine is more difficult than cutting powder cocaine, some dealers attempt it with benzocaine, hicaine, lidocaine, or procaine. Cocaine may be cut before or after conversion into crack cocaine; in either event, some portion of the cutting agents may survive the conversion process, reducing the purity of the crack cocaine."
