Opioids Crushing slow release pills?

I've been getting conflicting views about whether or not its worth while crushing SR pills like DHC and Morphine SR. Some say its no use because of the wax matrix even when crushed and I hear others that say crushing SR pills beats the slow release. Can anyone clear this up for me? Also, any pills I've ever had have been SR and I was wondering if IR pills still have that waxy texture to them or crush straight into powder?

Crushing the slow release should release more medicine faster because you are giving your stomach acid more drug surface area to break down and absorb, as apposed to it breaking down the pill from the outside in.

You might also try taking the pill with a tablespoon of table salt to speed absorption.

It may not make a big difference; but any increase in surface area certainly makes a difference to the onset.

i've wondered about this before too. a friend of mine used to be able to get the generic OCs for about half what he paid for purdue, and i've been curious about whether crushing/parachuting would effectively circumvent the time release mechanism or if would just reform into a big gel-ball of xr oxycodone in your stomach and take just as long to absorb (excluding whatever marginal benfits you get by increasing the surface area). i tried it w/ one or 2 of the mallinkrofdt (sp?) 80s, but i think my tolerance was probably high enough at that point to where i couldn't really tell anyway by the effects. so i'd definitely like to hear a definitive answer to your question if anyone knows.

I'd imagine to change the stomach pH levels so less is excreted; prolonging the high. Like Sodium Bicarbonate and Amphetamine.

it works with some morphine SR pills we get here in canada such as kadians and esslons but not with mscontins and it's generics. You have to prep those in a way thats a total bitch if you want to get rid of the time release.

Yea here in Canada, the Kadians, the M-Eslons, the Hydromorph Contin, and the Oxies can all be crushed up to get instant-release. They're pretty much all easy to break except the Hydromorph Contin beads, which you have to break with a spoon on a glass table so that they don't fly all over the place.

Crushing very strong anti-abuse pills does beat the slow release for the most part, but with some of the pills the globbing up in the nose will still slow the release, some of it up until you ingest it. I would always crush any morphine before just swallowing it. Morphine's BA sucks either way, but crushing it is a better choice over swallowing IMO.

Breaking it up is a bit more desireable, it hits you relatively all at once compared to the stomach having to dissolve the pill, so it is worthwhile to crush these things

Ok i get morph ER all the time here are some tricks and a garuntee they work cuz if i dont use them and swallow pill as is they suck..

Anyways depends on brand of the pill but this technique will always work and i have logical proof. First chew the pill with your front teeth only so you dont get the shit stuck in your molers, guess you could crush it first but honestly unless your pluging or shooting fuck crushing to much work just chew it as i described. Next get your mout ful of water swish it with the morphine for about two minutes. You may still get some waxy globs try to chew them up while the water is in your mouth. Keep swishing let sit a bit and disolve.

And how do i know this defeats most of the time release... well the damn water taste like shitee bitter liquid morphine. the less globs you achive with practice the more m you get at once. Also know this works cuz i start WD in 4 hours not 8 or 12...

ABG is the easiest to beat, mallies and pradue suck, cant prep those for shit except oral consumption the way i just described. or crisping with taloquine or whatever which is to much if i wanna bang the shit ill get some msir. the abgs can be prepped for plugging though with a lil cooking they dont just blob like mallie and perdue

So do we have a definitive answer here on this. I'm wicked curious, it always seemed a no brainer that crushing the pill to powder would defeat the time release mechanism, but now I'm starting to doubt myself a little

I smash up hydromorph-contin for intranasal. It works, however I believe I lose lots of drug to my lungs/stomach because of the fact the powder isn't very fine in the end. Because of this I would say a Hydro-contin 12mg is like a Dilaudid 8mg for me. I do both equally as often because a Hydro 12 and a Dilly 8 both cost the same for me.

The method I use is to pour about 4 ounces of carbonated seltzer water in an empty water bottle, then crush up as finely as possible the ER pill & dump it in the seltzer water, close the bottle & let it sit for at least 12 hours. Ime, everything dissolves & becomes 100% available, then pour some grape juice or whatever in it because of the nasty taste & drink, it hits me like a ton of bricks, please correct me if im wrong......I am only stating these facts on personal experiences.

Im still having problems Ive put the tiny beads in a folded piece of paper then smashed with a hammer ...i still dont c any powder but some of the beads look bigger... whats that about? a pill crusher is useless as the beads r still to small ......any advice

Fold the end of a straw up, and pour the little balls into it. Fold the rest of the straw over that to create a little plastic package, and chew on it til you don't feel a crunch anymore. Dry it off and open it up, you may have to cut it. Dump the stuff out of the straw and crush it a little finer with a credit card, that's what I do.

Edit: I also would like to note, this was done with the Canadian Hydromorph-contin 6mg pink capsules, and 12mg orange caps.
