Cross tolerance

I'm currenting trying 2ci but plan to get some acid this weekend if it comes up..will this effect the acid trip?

Yes there will be cross tolerance, they have similar mechanisms of action.
I'm not sure by how much, me dosing 20mg 2ce at a festival caused my acid trip the next day to be severely dulled.
And the tabs were good, I got them from a trusted friend who said that everyone he gave them to had great powerful experiences, and I could feel that the 2 tabs should have been a great trip but the 2ce played a role.
IDK when you have a tolerance to psyches and you take another you can sort of feel how high you should be even though you aren't, idk

I'm on 2ci, I plan on doing acid this weekend. How should I dose according for cross tolerance. This could happen in 2-4 days.

Wait to be sure, the results can otherwise be a bit disappointing and a bit tame when there is still tolerance. I agree with HT, even if you trip reasonably hard, it can having less of an impact that makes you feel amazed because of the novelty factor (which actually is backed up by neurological theory).

I wonder what kind of research has gone into the novelty factor regarding drug use, mostly where I've seen it it's been simply an idea theorized.
It makes sense as to why even weekly or biweekly psychedelic use can cause it to lose its wow factor completely

What seemed to be implied from how I interpreted it, apparently the novelty effect has been shown with imaging, maybe MRI or fMRI: that brain region the locus coroeleus normal sends pulsing signals at a resting rate, similar to your heartrate basically... then when totally new / novel stimuli were introduced this pulsing rate would go up correspondingly.
And I even think that the same rise in activity has been observed from psychedelics, but not sure if it was an unofficial experiment he did himself or what.

And yes it makes sense, it offers some other explanations as well which I have occasionally mentioned / pondered here in PD.

Yes. 2C-I and LSD are both 5-HT2a-mediated psychedelics, so there will be significant cross tolerance.

Now, they bind differently to the 5ht2a receptor, and they have distinct selectivities for other 5ht receptors, so tolerance will be incomplete.

What do you mean incomplete? and how long should I wait? would 4 days be enough or should i buy it and save it for the next weekend?

incomplete as in not the same as if you were trying to trip on the same substance twice in a short period...

relax, buy it now but save the trip for later. it will have more impact that way. there is no reason to binge

Yes, they have different selectivities but a simplified answer to the OP's question would be to wait a week(preferrably more, I trip every 2 weeks at most). There would be noticeable cross tolerance between 2C-I and LSD and most serotonergic psychedelics for that matter.

Cross tolerance between the different categories of psychedelics is quite tricky though. I think OP will be fine regarding tolerance (leaving the psychology part out for a moment)
