Hi, would there be any cross-tolerance with fentanyl and oxycodone?

If I had used fentanyl and codiene cwe's, do you think there would be a tolerance then for oxy?

Thanks

Yes, fentanyl is a shocker for putting your opiate tolerance through the roof.

When I used fentanyl a few times I needed 30-50% more of other opiates (oxy, codeine, opium, morphine) to get high.

I stopped using for a few weeks to get my tolerance back down to an acceptable level

there is a cross tolerance between many opiates, at work when assessing people for opiate dependance the doctors take all opiates into account- if they dont work on the same opiate receptor then there may be potentiating the effects to a degree as well.

on top of this if you have been using alcohol/benzos to potentiate opiates affects (bad combo chances of respitory depression) that may also come into account

Yeah there is gonna be a cross-tolerance issue, depending on how long you have been using fentanyl I would perhaps take a little break to get the most out of those oxycodones cause they are sweet, also how do you pronounce fentanyl?

Well most people prefer full mu-agonists, Kappa receptor agonists tend to have a stimulating quality - but i find once you're tolerant to one - you have a much higher threshold dose with the rest.

Mr Blonde: "Phen-taa-nil"

It all depends on the dose..

In my experience fentanyl use markedly raised my tolerance (tripled my tolerance to oxycodone) in a very short time frame.

So the answer to your question is yes. Yes you will have a tolerance for any other opiate/oid.

To what extent is entirely dependent on dose and duration of use, the dose of fentanly you were using would indicate your potential tolerance for another opiate/oid.

Hope this helps

Edit: there are many opiate dose converters on the internets, Google is your friend.

also how do you pronounce fentanyl?

lofl, de ja vu. i remember you asked this in OD social a long while ago

fen-tuh-nil

yeah fentanyl is a crazy tolerance raiser. it blew up my oxycodone tolerance close too 600%, so there's definitely cross tolerance to oxy in my experience.

i strongly urge you to steer away from fentanyl recreationally, especially if you've only a naive tolerance. the dosage curb is extremely sharp with fentanyl which makes dosing a lot harder to gauge than most other drugs so approach with great caution an ROA; it's no wonder you see fentanyl associated with quite a few heroin overdoses either as a cut or using on top

There is a cross tolerance between all opiates. I have been using very high amounts of Codeine lately (up to 700mg) and my tolerance is through the roof. I used to nod on 20mg oxy or 50mg H and now a full oxy (80mg) pill doesnt do much. Went thru 3pts of H in less than 2 nights as well. Bearly felt it. Mate IM-d 60mg of that H and he nodded out instantly and was thru clouds so it def wasnt bout the quality. Its best to take a 2 week break but a month would be better.

i like when former OD mods don't know how to pronounce drugs. crazy aussies!

to OP: if you look online you should find conversion charts between opiates, I pretty much assume 100% cross tolerance with any full agonist.

In my defense I am a severely de-stabilized former OD mod in dire need of medication!

And also I ask 'cause one time when I was working with p_d, he pronounced it like:

phen - tan - ill

And he would be the guy who knows, right?

Whereas most of the time people pronounce it like LW and MrIbis pronounce it, i am so confuse!

Ha ha LW yes I have asked this before but I think people misunderstood what I was saying I thought it was, I remember you sent me an audio clip of you pronouncing it ha ha! :D

^i'm pretty sure you were around for the convo, you wouldn't have been but a wee noobian then, tripping on jimson weed (to palli)

and lol yeah i have vague recollections of that chat blondey:D

i've heard people pronounce it like p_d as well ftr, my doctor for instance - so yeah they're probably in the right;)
