Crohn's and Psychedelic's

So I don't have a ton of experience in psychadelics aside from tripping on mushrooms a few dozen times and dabbling in DXM (which sucked btw!). I was wondering though what psychadelics are easy on your stomach? I have crohn's disease and mushrooms, although fun, can cause me a LOT of stomach pain and was looking to see any suggestions that won't leave me shitting into a bag when I'm old haha

Fellow Crohn's patient here; I do find that shrooms cause far more GI distress than other psychedelics. I find that 4-HO-MET and 4-Aco-DMT are both relatively "nice" to my digestive system. But, you need to remember that there are serotonin receptors in the lining of your gut, so any psychedelic will cause you to feel something.

As to long term damage, there shouldn't be any. Research has shown that 5-HT2A activation suppresses tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), which is a major cause of inflammation in Crohn's patients. Many modern Crohn's treatments focus on TNF-alpha suppression (Humira, Remicaide, etc). http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18708586

Yeah, all 5-HT psychedelics will increase gut motility, which may cause pain if you have active Crohn's disease. That said, it might be worth trying pure synth'd psychedelics as Wise Owl mentioned, as mushrooms tend to cause stomach discomfort for a lot of people regardless of the presence of IBD.

What you really need is some whipworm eggs. ;)

I don't mean to make light of your situation...I just think the idea of helminthic therapy is intriguing. There are, of course, more conventional therapies that have demonstrated efficacy as well. Best of luck with getting the Crohn's under control.

Yeah remicade is by far the most effective treatment I have ever received, I need to start doing it again but due to some legal complications I need to wait 3 weeks before I can start seeing a doctor again (funny how the legal system prevents me from getting medical treatment that's something I'm not willing to discuss online until it's over with though)

Are either of the chemicals you mentioned legal research chemicals?

Both 4-HO-MET and 4-AcO-DMT are not explicitly illegal but would be considered analogues of psilocin. That being said, they are not hard to find.

Yes, under the Federal Analog Act they are technically illegal when sold or possessed with the intent of consumption.

I looked it up no need to answer that question I now know it's basically gray area. I did some research on 4-AcO-DMT and reallllllly want to try it but there are so many shady looking distributors... wish I knew of a reputable distributor because you never know what the bag of powder you're going to get is going to be so I'm reallllllly apprehensive to order any :(

try not to beg for sources man, this is the second thread youre doing it in. not cool

I have Crohn's and stay away from mushrooms for the most part for this reason. It is not unbearable but something like LSD gives me little to no stomach upset. MDMA and other phens oh the other hand wreck havoc on my gut if I am flaring up. Usually have to take some Immodium or some thing if I am going to roll because I get bad diarrhea from MDMA and 6-APB and a lot of nausea.

I'm glad you posted that because xtc and lsd were two things i was considering trying soon... lsd is actually one of the few drugs i've never tried but have always been scared to for some reason. I'll eat mushrooms dozens of times, inject heroin and smoke crack but am scared of lsd.. i know i'm weird 8)

still though 4-AcO-DMT sounds more appetizing, i already know i love mushrooms, this is similar and doesn't include the stomach pain from mushrooms, the flashbacks from acid and plus can be stored for a long time.. win win situation. unless you get burned by one of these chemical places online and die from what they give you, then you lose lol

Very much agree; MDMA, MDA, bk-MDMA, 2C-I, and 2C-C all hurt my gut. Not as much as whole mushrooms though.

One last note I want to add; cannabis is a truly amazing treatment (for me at least). I can't imagine tripping without a good bag of weed.

yeah I'm considering starting smoking again but the thing is right now at my job I'm a forklift driver and one small bump into something = drug test.. I talked to my bosses and got the OK to switch back to my old job but it'd take me from 13.75 back down to $12 an hour so I really have to weigh my optinos... dunno what I'm going to do :(

I'm off probation in 2 weeks and talked my boss into switching back to my old job that very day (for school of course since it would also put my back on day shift ;) ) if I want to.. I'm a conniving little fuck lol =D

As much as Humira has helped me, nothing has helped me as much as cannabis. I could never even think about eating, let alone tripping without cannabis.

I've never heard of humira ill have to look into it if its that helpful to you. I never realized how much kratom helps until I started doing it in the correct doses about a week ago (more is actually worse for once)

Humira is simialr to Remicaide but you just inject yourself twice a month instead of having to go get an infusion at a hospital. It is just a SC injection in your thigh or belly, I always went thigh. Not bad at all, just stings a little. As for the Kratom bit, one reason I was addicted to opiates for a while and still do like them was because they helped the symptoms so much. It is not really sustainable treatment though, especially when you like getting high.

rectal administration reduces stomach discomfort (for me) for most drug. Not too familiar with chrons though, so not sure if would help.

When I took Humira.... it was a burning pain that lasted for hours. I would take it in my thigh, try not to yell from the pain, then limp for the rest of the day. It did relieve my symptoms very well. But it was way too painful to continue treatment. My experience is probably not normal though.
